The Tevez-Llorente pairing should certainly make a huge difference in these games.

Juve could sit deeper because Tevez, Llorente and one midfielder in support is enough to carry an attacking threat.

That front two will also allow Juve to have infinitely better ball retention than Juve have had, especially when Vucinic hasn't played, and that can allow Juve to get out from the pressing in a way they couldn't against Bayern.

Then there is Llorente providing a proper target as well, so you could also play long to him and just go long whenever the opposition attempts to press.

That said, I still think it would be a very uncomfortable match-up for Juve against either Bayern or Dortmund even if Juve should be much better equipped for it than they were last year.
I don't think we nearly suffered as bad to Bayern for their counters as we did being pressed, and as you said having players that can actually hold up the ball will do great to limit that. Dortmund will be a much much more favourable match up for this season if we draw them because of our quality, and not in a RM 'quality' way.

Yeah, Juve didn't do badly when defending in normal situations with players in position.

It was only when Bayern stole the ball high up the pitch and Juve had players beyond the ball that they really looked dangerous.

Yeah but Serie A didnt bother to re-invest their money/profit wisely. Lavezzi and Cavani have made Nipples around 100M FFS. You can make an entire starting 11 with that

Napoli are going to reinvest all the money from Cavani's sale.

Last year they used Lavezzi's money to improve their depth options. And ultimately they finished 2nd which was a good return for them.

Milan on the other hand were running on losses and they had to balance their books with Ibra and Silva sales with most part of the money.

Carrick is a good DLP but it would be better to play a destroyer next to Thiago than someone like Carrick.Thats what i meant to say, tactically it would be a better fit than say Carrick-Thiago.
