still doesnt answer the question, why move to a team that doesnt stand a chance to win anything yet would still have "professional" expectations
I believe that every team in the second stage of the CL has a chance to win it. We are talking about two matches at a time and opportunities.

If we keep playing like we are now, Celtic is definitely in the quarters.

I doubt the big name guys that move to lesser (in football sense) countries to play for insane salaries are all allowed to relax and not to take it seriously, in Anelka and Drogba case I wouldn't doubt the Chinese capability to make them work hard for every one of those millions. :D

let me answer your Q with another Q: How would have moving to Juve been any different? :D

seriously, though, I don't think you should see this as Drogba dying to move to Galata - it's more of him wanting to gtfo of China. Not sure if he was indeed not being paid by the Chinese club but at this point in time it seems to me any European club that plays in the CL and is willing to offer him good moneys for a short contract, would have sufficed as long he got his ass out of China in the process. Why Galata? Well, it's not exactly there was a long line of teams still in the CL, and likely to play CL football next year too, that is willing to give a 35 yo pre-retirement guy 6 mil a season. After all, the teams that do stand a chance to win the CL are either looking elsewhere or have Mr. Scroogotta for a GM :D

Galata can now go far with Drogba and Sneijder. We needed one player like that to do better than we will, we opted to bring a substitute for our fifth striker. And Peluso.
if they manage to integrate Sneijder and Drogba into the team, I can get behind that thought. Then again, there is always Zenit to remind us of the alternative outcome :)

I think Drogs next to Vucinic would have made Juve a force to be reckoned with in the CL - it's not just what drogba would have brought on the field in attack, such transfers also often inject an extra level of motivation and confidence in the team as a whole and takes it to the next level. If he moved to Galata for 10 for 1.5 years, I'd guess he would have accepted 7 or so from Juve for the same period. I'd have closed that thing like a motherfucker :D

well thats what i am saying, but is this dislike worth having to try hard where you are really not motivated too, seems to me a dumb move
