Cassano just killed Milan Management

Cassano: "Sampdoria is in my heart, and I hope to return there one day. I don't know if I will stay at Milan.
Without Thiago Silva it will be very difficult to compete for the Scudetto and the Champions League. How far can we make it without Thiago Silva? Without him, we can only qualify for the Champions League at best. If we lose Thiago Silva then we lose 50% of the squad. He's irreplaceable.

Balotelli hasn't got anything to prove, but if he arrives at Milan, then what are we going to do? Play a 5-5-5 formation? I haven't spoken to Ibra in a month, but if he gets angry about the sale of Thiago Silva, then I will agree with him. If it was up to me, then I would never let Thiago Silva leave Milan. The Milan board has to admit to us players that we can't compete for the Scudetto and the CL, if Thiago Silva leaves us."
They will surely kill the spirit of the team once and for all if they do this. Atleast up to this year they had Seedorf, Inzaghi, Zambrotta, Nesta: guys who had character and winning experiences to keep the squad breathing in tough times.. now Ibra willl be the only player with character in the whole squad. I dont see any good cheap players in the market anyway that can atleast fill holes let alone star.
are there any good and relatively affordable options in the market? Ibra will have a lot of work to do thats assuming that he doesnt leave them too with cassano.
This is great news.. we should easily be champions :juventus:

lol. There is no replacement for Pirlo. The best hope we have is Verratti. Pirlo will still be good for 2-3 seasons at least.
Modric is immense and I dont believe we can wholly count on pirlo for 2-3 more years. Every year at that age changes player's performances a lot. 2-3 years ago Del Piero was 10 times as effective.

Germany football mainly rises again cos they invest heavily in their youth systems and see where it takes them
German talents are everywhere in the whole league. Look at dortmund I think 50% of their squad is from their own youth system. And most of the players don't really want to leave.

That is the problem with italy. Youth players breaking through in italy are so rare, that is the big problems
clubs like genoa, purple rats, lecce, palermo, cagliari. Should play with more own youth product or the just not good enough ones from the top clubs. But instead of doing that Italian clubs buy average/old players who are not really better then their youth.

Italy also needs to learn how to make youth better that is also a problem of italy. just look at holland and germany they are owning the youth levels with spain and france.
where is italy? they should heavily try to change this. As long as that won't happen Italy will drop further and further.

That is the main problem in the serie a. Then the stadiums.

In the end that is always the future.

Abate, Antonini, Mesbah, Mexés, Bonera, Yepes, De Sciglio

Nocerino, Muntari, Montolivo, Traoré, Urby, Ambrosini, Flamini, Strasser

Milan midfield and defense without Thiago Silva.

They'll surely get another defender and midfielder with Silva's sale.
Add Dede to that and it suddenly becomes much better

Milan aren't going anywhere. At best they'll sign Dede and some CM.

They would have been much better off selling Pato and buying a CM and one of Destro/Borini.

Perhaps, but I don't expect them to spend much on them. They'll mainly use the money to balance their books imo.
His sale is always going to be negative for them, as they can't get a better defender than him.

Yes, and that is exactly what I said.

They'll surely buy some improvements from their current roster, so they won't be as bad as you might be thinking. They're still weakening their squad though.

I don't think any of them are even good enough for 4-5th choice honestly (apart from Abate, Mesbah, De Sciglio and Antonini but they get there by default by few players at RB & LB). None of the midfield would make backup or 4th-5th choice with Asamoah and Isla, Montolivo would be 5th-6th choice CM if that and Mexes maybe 4th-5th choice CB.
