Thiago Silva deal done - report

By Football Italia staff

Sportmediaset are reporting that Milan defender Thiago Silva has agreed to join French outfit Paris Saint-Germain for €50m.

Reports this morning suggested that the player was in Paris today to negotiate a high-cost transfer to the Ligue 1 club, whilst both the his agent and PSG’s sporting director Leonardo added fuel to such rumours with their comments.

SportMediaset are now reporting that a deal between the club and Silva has been agreed, with the Brazilian allegedly set to be handed a €9m-a-season contract in the French capital, doubling his current San Siro salary.

Meanwhile, the Rossoneri are set to receive a €50m fee to hand over his registration to the Parisians, which would be five times the amount the Italians paid Fluminense for him in 2007.

It is understood that the player has already texted teammates at Milan to inform them of his departure and to say goodbye. The 27-year-old will have a medical on Tuesday before completing the transfer.

Wow, if true.

I think they will be stronger if they spend all €50m on the transfer market (unlikely because of wages and debts) but they should be able to get at least 2-3 quality players.

50m? Sell sell sell, even if he is fantastic defender. Now the question is if they will spend all of that sum, prolly gonna go for Dede if they are smart.

Really impressive transfer fee, sad to see such a star go indeed, but Italy is injected with a huge amount of cash, that imo, does more than simply sweeten the deal.
Milans weakest spot, the defence, just became weaker!

Lol no way. A lot of Serie A teams are getting new stadiums in the near future, Serie A will rise again. It will take time, at least ten years, but it will.
