Our signings are quite underwhelming, no doubt that we are weaker than last season. One thing is for sure though, had it not been for the signings we made in the last 3 days, we would have never got a better position than 6th, now we have a decent chance to get fourth. But we're going to need Liverpool to fuck up a bit. At least now i'm confident of finishing ahead of Tottenham.

Edit: I'm hoping that the Benayoun loan move means, that we're going to get Hazard next season. We need a big signing like that to get us back on track.

The only real positive of this transfer window, is that we got rid of some useless players such as Denilson, Traore and Bendtner, its so refreshing to know that we aren't going to go through the torture of having to watch them play for us. It would have been perfect had we got rid of Squillachi, Almunia and Chamakh too.

Ya, we're in similar situations now i guess. Who did you guys sign in this window? and how confident are you of securing a CL spot?

At the middle of the page is a list of all the players we signed.

Our mercato is meh, could have been better, could have been worse.
Thats not all that bad. There aren't any marquee signings, but they give you guys a solid enough squad.

Vidal and Vucinic are good signings that would add more quality to the team imo. Elia, Ziegler and that Paraguyan guy are an upgrade over what you had last season. Licht is decent, you never know what you'd get with Pirlo, could turn out to be as poor as he's been with Milan for the past 3 years, or a new environment might just be what he needs to start performing again, theres no denying his ability.

Buffon

Licht - Bonucci - Chiellini - Ziegler

Krasic-Pirlo-Vidal-Elia

-Matri-Vucinic

Not world beaters by any stretch of imagination, but i don't see why that team can't get 3rd place.

Piers Morgan is happy ass hell right now on twitter..
He's an Arsenal fan?

Pirlo is our best signing imo.

I'd say that his performances in the last 2-3 seasons at Milan were greatly affected by the lack of movement in that team(Pirlo flourished in a team with lots of movement) and the lack of motivation(the team had won another CL in 2007, they seemed not as motivated to win as they used to be).

De Ceglie will start instead of Ziegler as Conte prefers De Ceglie. Also, I think we'll see a lot of rotation in our front line because we have Quagliarella.

I also think we can get 3rd place but a lot of it will depend on Conte as he's inexperienced in Serie A.

And yes, Piers Morgan is an Arsenal fan.

Also, I hope that your team improves, Arsenal has always been the only EPL side I respect and like.

Yes of course, it will mostly depend on Conte, on injuries, rival teams form, how fast players gel and so many other factors. On paper that team is more than capable of getting 3rd place though. Playing CL could have its toll on Napoli, and we're yet to see how the Enrique project goes at Roma. I see some people here giving Lazio a chance to be in the top 3, i strongly doubt that, their signings haven't been anything that special. Sure they've improved considerably, but not enough as people give them credit for imo.

Hernanes is amazing. I don't rate Cisse, watch him flop horribly at Lazio now. He was good when he had pace and a really strong shot on him, he's lost the former which is his main strength.

Francesco Grandolfo has been loaned for Chievo.

The kid has talent, he scored a hat trick on the last day of last season. Hopefully he'll do well at Chievo.

I said hopefully because Italian football needs to develop its talents.

Every game I've seen of Gago has been way below what everyone seems to rate him. Doesn't look like a player that big clubs would pay attention to at all. I like Pjanic though.
