Some people seem to have been confused about Mertens' role in the Fellaini transfer.

He is being used to faciliatate the deal by, as a fellow Belgian, talking to Fellaini to convince him to join Napoli.

There was never any suggestion Mertens would be involved in any given of swap deal.

if mertens has a good season there, he could easily fetch 30 mil plus next summer

I don't dispute that he's had some amazing seasons in the last two years with Everton and W.Brom, you really couldn't ask more of him. What I am arguing, is that its as good as it gets for him, if he moves to a big club, I don't think he'll be good enough. I think he lacks technique, and I think he doesn't do too well when playing against sides that park the bus, he'll do well for Everton where he'll find a lot of space, and not many teams park the bus against them. But playing against teams that defend with 11 men every week, thats a completely different proposition.

Teams have started to park the bus more against us, Liverpool did it, then hit us on the break.....at Anfield.

You may well be right about Lukaku, time will tell. He does have everything needed to hit the top. His first touch anoys me too.

He has more at 21 than Drogba did at 21.

Maybe, but like Pablo already said, he is still only 21.
You can't deny his nose for goals, and in Belgium, during his Anderlecht days, teams also parked the bus and he still scored.
Of course, he was too good for our league so that is not much of a contest.
He surely has a lot to learn, hopefully he has it in him, would be great to have three world class options for our attack in our NT with Origi, Benteke and Lukaku.

We can only hope.

But Batshuayi is also one that is coming fast, hopefully he can do well at Marseille.

Origi, Batshuayi, Januzaj, Musonda, Tielemans, that young defender at City, and everything that is already there, future looks so good for us.
