I think that's actually the game where Liverpool threw away their championship chances.

I liked Arshavin when I first saw him at the EURO's in 2008. He reminded me a bit of Camo. I remember he was all over the place against Dutch NT and Russia won that game, he scored and assisted one I think.

I remember when he signed, he didn't realise that the tax rate in England was 50% and was pissed that he would only go home with £40,000 per week :D

They brought it down from 20 to 12.5..Thats a steal for a fantastic playmaker like him.

---------- Post added 02.08.2012 at 23:11 ----------

Olivier Giroud (£12m), Lukas Podolski (£10.9m), Santi Cazorla (£12.5m), Sahin (Loan) = £35.4m

4 quality players for a very reasonable amount..Arsenal have had a fantastic market this summer..Icing on the cake would be if RVP decides to stay

i'm not impressed by the player..if they needed a playmaker, they could've loaned thiago alcantara or try to reach for an agreement with kaka, real wants to get rid of him by all means...or maybe afellay/vdv.

Lolwut ?He's one of the best players in La Liga outside Real and Barca..Santi was the one that guided Villareal to CL spot..They fell apart when he transferred to Malaga.Thiago is still a kid and Kaka is finished..Santi is a fantastic buy rest assured..

Also i've got this stat..

3 – Three players made over 1000 passes in the final third in LigaBBVA 11/12: Messi (1303), Xavi (1101) and Cazorla (1037).

They're probably the best club in Europe when it comes to negotiation IMO, we used to be the best not anymore

Kaka will be way too expensive (in wages) just because of his name. VDV is good, but there is no way Tottenham will sell to us, no way at all. I don't want to bring in players on loan, so Thiago is out of the picture.

You must be taking the piss, even bringing up Affelay in such a conversation.

I think Santi is a very good player, I'm not too big on playing him midfield, as he is untested in that position, but he is very comfortable playing on the wings. I hope this convinces RVP to stay, if RVP does stay, all of a sudden we have a much better team than last season.

:sergio: :wallbang: Inter, 7'th in Serie A last season, are willing to pay that amount of money on an unproven talent with no experience in Europe. In the meantime, Juventus are hesitating to raise their offer to acquire Jovetic (who has more than a couple of seasons under his belt in Serie A, not to mention a CL campaign). FML

:p Well, it is quite ridiculous. We are Serie A champs FFS. We should be able to splash out the cash for at least one signing. Even fucking Roma acquired Destro in a deal estimated to be worth 19 Million Euros. If these are the market prices, please don't tell me you don't think Jovetic is worth at least 23 Million Euros (in cash alone, without player exchanges).

Ok I won't tell you that.

Surely if we finish above Inter we got it right? ;)

I think this deal is seriously impressive, agreed, if I were RvP I'd probably think it's too late to change my mind but I'd really be tempted to stay. Unless money is the biggest factor after all.

Post your favoured starting XI please.
