"I am leaving things up to my agent. I am very calm about the situation but I know there has been some movement. If Chelsea is interested in me then all that needs to happen is for negotiations to take place. My ambition is to keep working hard and I am convinced I can play in a superior league like England."

would love to see Drog and Essien in red and black though :p
Anyone wanting to sign Essien should be fairly wary.

I don't think he's the same player since his injuries. Doesn't seem to have the incredible power and athleticism he used to use to completely dominate games.

Still a very good player, but not nearly as good as he was a few years ago.

Agree about Essien, he is not the same. The man used to be a one man midfield, but not any more.

Inter ignore Kharja option

Inter haven’t taken up their option to sign Houssine Kharja on a permanent basis from Serie A side Genoa.

The Moroccan joined the San Siro giants on a six month loan in January with an option to remain at the Meazza.

“I can confirm that the option to take Kharja has expired,” agent Beppe Galli told Radio CRC on Thursday.

The midfielder has been linked with a switch to Napoli and his agent has welcomed such a possibility.

“There is still a chance that Inter could sign him, but the player would like a switch to the Azzurri,” Galli added.

Kharja, born in November 1982, joined Genoa in 2009 after two seasons at Tuscan minnows Siena.

true, although I think this last season the entire Chelsea team seemed a bit off after the first 10 or so games ... maybe moving to a new team would do his motivation and focus a favor :D
but I agree, it would be a transfer one should consider carefully as, I would say, age is also starting to catch up with Essien ... if not already, then pretty soon it probably would.
