Believe me, he is better than what we have. He's terrible inconsistent and extremely selfish, has terrible decision making and is a real ball hog. But the guy is talented, theres no denying that. For all his faults, Arsene Wenger still is one of the best coaches in developing players and getting the best out of them. So i wouldn't be too downhearted by this transfer. Especially because Hazard is almost impossible.

Though to be honest i'd prefer we go for Mata

That's a lot for Falcao, but he's the type to win games with half a chance, scoring record is quite silly as well. The player could fit in at quite a few bigger clubs than Atletico, seems weird.

I won't be surprised if you guys signed Hazard and M'vila in the last days of this mercato.
I give us less than 5% chance of getting Hazard. Why would Lille sell this summer, when they can get so much more money for him after he plays in the CL?

M'Villa would be a good signing.

Imagine:
Wenger: "We wanted Hazard but we thought that Zarate was a better player and a better tactical fit, price had nothing to do with it"

Fred would go on a rampage :D
I'd go after Wenger personally.

strictly money imo, his agent prolly convinced him that his stock could fall come next year and he was due for a payout so might as well
Precisely, no guarantees he'd have another stellar season like he did. I'd like to know how much his agent got of out the deal.:klin:

40 mil for Falcao is ridiculous. He's no Aguero. I admit he's a good player, but I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be the flop of the year, simply because he doesn't win you games all by himself as someone mentioned above that he did. He needs the team behind him, and Atletico's team is pathetic.

aguero too needs a team behind him, granted falcao is not as talented as aguero but hes definitely mentally stronger

I just can't believe the price tag from the club's perspective. This is a club that has a zero chance of winning the league, and I can't remember the last time they were in CL, and probably wont make top 4 this season, yet they splash this kind of money. Atletico are the equivalent of Genoa in Italy, imagine them spending 40m on some dude! They bought Aguero in his teens and was an excellent investment, but this guy is already 25, I'm pretty sure they would not get anything near 40m figure, when the club/player decides to transfer. Silly move for a club with no ambition.
