Ok, if all this is true then I have to conclude that Fabregas knows about it. My impression is that Cesc will die to play for Barca so if there was an offer from Milan, or simple contact without an offer, I doubt Fabregas didn't inform Barcelona about it.
And if Barca knows about it, then I'm pretty sure they'll do everything Fabregas not to go to Milan because he might be twice more expensive in 2-3 years while Barca might need him earlier than that.

If Cesc goes to Milan this summer then he might ruin his chances to play for Barca, ever. It will be a kick in Barca's face if Fabregas leaves Arsenal for another club.
I agree with what you say - considering barca don't need Fabregas desperately, actually there was a poll among their fans and they rejected the transfer as they see it as a threat on Thiago's development as a player, and that they are almost 400 mil in debt, wouldn't you say their insisting on signing a 40-mil Fabregas is a sign of doing a lot not to let Fabregas go to another team?

anyways, it's obvious this would be a tricky transfer to pull off and only time will tell how this saga will end.

Isn't Milan in debts over 500mln?

I would have if they didn't splash all those millions on Sanchez (another player they didn't really need) or if in the previous seasons they weren't making +40 million transfers despite being in debt and having the best team in the world.

no, Milan's debts are being taken care of Fininvest on a yearly basis and that was the reason for the clubs stingy transfer policies in recent years and has just recently lead to a major shift in the policy of the club regarding giving out rich contracts to just about anybody - most of the revenue used to go for salaries huge salaries and if a player was to be signed, Berlusconi had to cough up the funds for it.

The sales of Sheva and Kaka also went to covering the minus column in the books.

yeah, but they needed Sanchez considering Afellay is not Pep's favourite and seems destined to leave, with Thiago coming out so strongly, signing Fab is pure luxury and not exactly a necessity, at least not right now - under these circumstances, at any other club, paying 40 mil for Fab would be considered madness.

Do they even intend on starting Sanchez? 40 mill seems pretty steep for a sub, I'm thinking he'll take Pedro's place but it may end up backfiring on them.

Come on, for a team that is 400m in debt and that was already owning everyone, paying so much money for Sanchez was just as big madness as paying the money for Cesc.
Villa, Messi and Pedro scored 98 goals between them last year (23+53+22). That's almost 100 goals from the attacking line. Barca won all the big trophies. If your debt is such a problem, then you surely won't add a 4th attacker for almost 40million (or close to 30m cash+bonuses). If the debt is a problem and Pep doesn't want Affelay, then Barca were simply gonna sell Affelay and buy a cheaper sub player instead of buying someone for 40million.

Their debt obviously isn't a problem and Barca is obviously buying everyone they want, no matter if the player costs +30m and no matter if he's really needed or not. Especially if the player is a Barca product, popular in Spain and top quality, like Cesc is.

I can't belive who the hell Milan fans belive they have chances on Fabregas , they have simillar chances on him like Juve had chances on Rooney/Torres .

I hope Anzhi won't pay nothing more than 30 mln E for Eto'o :claire:
