If zaniolo is worth 70m then mckennie has to be fetching us decent coin as well. If there was a swap maybe 30m max in cash...even then it all seems too much. Roma need to adjust their expectations...zaniolo had the potential to be a superstar, but 2 x ACLs = massive risk and a huge reduction in any transfer fee.

The one thing nedved and others in our hierarchy mentioned was the players "want" to join. If zaniolo bitches enough to roma that he wants to join, it definitely goes a long way to helping us get him on our terms rather than theirs.
No, in terms of value they probably should be the same. I dont see Zaniolo have a great season in Roma while playing more advance than McKennie. So far Zaniolo only scored 2 goals in Serie A while McKennie 3 goals with fewer matches.

If we consider injury record, Zaniolo also worse. I won"t consider a swap either

One has 8 assists. The other has 0 assists.

Mckennie 4 goals - 0 assists 1951 minutes.

Zaniolo 4 goals - 8 assists 2332 minutes.

70M is insanely high consider the risk of 2 ACL
Kulusevski had 7 goals 7 assists in 2738 mins last season and he was considered a failure
Sure. And Zaniolo had 8 goals - 3 assist in only 2000 minutes 2 years ago. This is his first year back from his ACLs. As long as he stays healthy he looks like he has huge potential to continue getting better, a very promising future. He also has twice the athleticism as Kulu, even after 2 ACL tears.

Anyways, I would like if we signed him for a reasonable fee (not 70m), but wont be particularly bothered if we fail to.

I would also pass on this kid.

He's a big fan of us I hear, but he's a Roma level player and I just can't see him getting better in the future.

he's a very good player, impactful, physical, not slow at all, can press, shoot, dribble, whatever. but he's very expensive, his injuries should be a red flag, and doesn't score or assist enough for his price.

i had more or less the same reservations about chiesa too (besides the injuries that is), and he easily proved me wrong on the pitch. then got injured lol

for 30-40m i'd consider him. around 70m, fuck no, thanks.

70 million is what they want, but they're definitely not getting that. I think we can close at 50, especially since he has an expiring contract (2024) and is a Juventus supporter.

"#Zaniolo is liked by #Juventus, but there are some issues with the deal that are not only related to the cost of the player. #Berardi is not a hot name for the bianconeri."

One name is certain, and that is Zaniolo. His agents have on the table a first draft of an offer of €4.2M net per year + bonus to reach €5.2-€5.5M. Roma are interested in Rovella. Not McKennie. [Paolo Nonmollo]
