to me dybala is a top player. to replace him has to be same top player (di maria level ) or elite level player ( son heung min, salah, mbappe)
i am ok with a potential player for a squad role, but not for first team place.
As I understand the strategy, we are not going to spend big on a player over the age of 25.. And that leaves you with a lot less candidates proven themselves to be world class players. What I like about Zaniolo is his eye for goal. He's a rare winger in that you can find thousands of pace merchants with no end product, but very few who's cold in front of goal.

Moussa Diaby from Leverkusen. Plays left wing. 16 goals 9 assists this season. Very fast player.
Honestly, these are the types of buys Juventus needs to focus on. The depth and wealth of young talent in the Bundesliga is just amazing. Especially with young attackers and wingers. Start creating a good relationship with RB Leipzig or something and start tapping into their scouting pipeline.

While I disagree with Zaniolo in ANY WAY being an effective Dybala replacement, he is like 7 years younger and probably would be 3-4m cheaper in wages.
Arthur is 6 years younger than Pjanić and is on 'cheaper' wages.

Look how that turned out. Younger is not always better.

This seems like a high risk low reward signing.

How is it a low reward?

A kid that has enormous potential, IMO to be better than Chiesa, cannot in no way be low reward

And Pjanic plays for a club in Turkey, looking like he is barely a toplevel professional footballer these days at the ripe old age of 31.

And?

Let's say we sign him for 40m, 5 year contract, 4m net. That is a yearly cost of 16m. Dybala on 4 years 8m net + bonus would be the same cost more or less

Thanks. I don't what he has done to be worth 40M though, other than be Italian and have nice youtube highlights, more so since he will be on the last year of his contract.

Let's see if he can at least make a difference for Italy in the upcoming playoffs.

He will have 2 years remaining, but I agree, in a normal world he is not worth 40m yet, but neither was Chiesa worth 60 when we got him. You have to pay for that potential

Tell me you haven't seen him without telling me or however that saying goes.

Many of these guys weren't exactly aware of Chiesa either before get to see him play for us.

Where Pjanić plays right now is not relevant. We replaced him with a 'younger' arguably worse midfielder, that doesn't mean I didn't want Pjanić replaced.

Same scenario with Dybala. If we are looking to replace an inconsistent, injury prone player, the least we could do is sign a durable player even if there's going to be a drop in quality.

Zaniolo is barely setting the league alight either. Even Turdeski had better seasons under his belt before joining us.

Very risky signing especially if it involves a transfer fee of €40-€50M. Not a bankable player imo.

Chiesa had his most productive season before joining us. Didn't come with a worrysome injury history either which is the main reason why few of them are against this signing.

He has 12 G+A so far this season. That's not bad. Raspadori for example has 13, in about the same number of minutes. 40M is a bit high though I agree, especially if hes rejecting extensions and only has Juve on his mind.

Zaniolo at his best is a top 10, maybe top 5 talent in the world. Sounds crazy but hes that talented. Physical, technical, everything. Of course it takes more than just talent, but this is an investment/risk worth taking imo.
