I disagree of the description of Regista for him on that video, his forward passing is really not good enough atm. I mean he took a free kick which didn’t even get enough elevation to clear the first defender which alone makes that description laughable.
You’re making a judgement off one preseason game and one set piece? He’s absolutely a regista and is very good on set pieces.

Okay, maybe I’m just venting at the video and what it is trying to hype a bit. I remember his corner which we conceded off last season, so fair point.

I don’t think it was a particularly strong showing today, but as we’ve said, it’s not helped by the fact of who he had around him and the fact it is preseason.

Willing him on for a great season because I have a hunch we’ll be keeping him over other youngsters.

idk, his name is getting floated more than the others. Just today it was reported that Salernitana is interested in a dry loan. I’m not against that just because I don’t think he’s as tactically versatile as the other two. He also missed a large chunk of last season, so some continuity would be good. I also think Miretti should be loaned out. I think it’s better for his development to play a season in a lower A or B side. Won’t do him much good sitting on the bench and I think Fagioli is more ready for a role.

We bought him from Genoa during Sarri season. Paid 20mil and Portanova iirc

Fagioli and Miretti are the academy boys

Can't wait to see him as DM with Locatelli and Pogba as the other two CMs.

When was the last time we had three CMs who are so good with the ball?
When we played pogba Locatelli and fagioli in the middle

I was rooting for him to stay, but he already missed a lot of games last season, so this move makes sense tbh. I just hope it's a dry loan, without any options. obligations. And extend his contact first, it expires in 2024, we don't want another Fagioli situation next season.

Loaning players out to clubs fighting relegation almost never works. The player normally adjusts to the level around him and stagnates.

In order to work it takes an abnormal situation where the club as a whole does much better than expected and a few players thrive. But it's unlikely.

One youngster less, lets go!

The biggest issue with relegation teams is that the coaches often revert to experience.

Although I dislike this move in general, I do understand. We are bloated in midfield and Rovella is the one coming off injury.

Also, Fagioli looked great alongside ADM and Pogba in the first friendly and also had a better season last year. Miretti also played better in his brief look with the first team so Rovella, coming off injury and needing to regain himself, getting starter's minutes at Salernitana, is better than sending out Fagioli or Miretti imo.

And sadly we cannot keep all three until sales are made or players are gone. It's the harsh realities of our roster, we have too much bloat with no value to sell and thus cannot keep them all. This is the legacy of Paratici. All of his midfield options have failed.

keeping 2 out of 4 young (lets see what will happen with Ranochia development too) midfielders is not bad at all. We can have 3 19-21y players our of 6-7 midfielders tho
