Genoa's coach Ballardini says it's up to Juve what to do with Rovella: https://www.juvefc.com/genoa-coach-says-juventus-will-have-the-final-word-on-rovellas-future/

That's why I'm against bringing back Pjanic. As good as he's been, he's already past it. We need to try to groom Fagioli and Rovella, both have good papers to be first team players IMO. Especially now, with the financial crisis and squad rejuvenation/rebuild, I hope that there's some space for promising young players instead of trying revive expensive-past-it ones.

The problem is all this dead wood between talent and a starting place.

I'm assuming what he means is Juventus can pay extra to end the loan early

I'm against it because no way this kid will earn as much as Pjanic and at least there is some upside and potential with Rovella. Even if Pjanic plays out of his mind, we know what we're getting with him. Rovella is the future and should be playing with us and learning with the squad as soon as possible.

But in the end, the 19-year-old midfielder remained on loan at Genoa and will leave next Monday for the training camp in Neustift with Ballardini's team.

The future of Nicolò Rovella still remains in the balance between Genoa and Juventus. As reported by the Genoese edition of La Repubblica, in fact, we will have to wait for what the Juventus club wants to do, despite an agreement that provides for another year of loan with the Rossoblu.

Nicolò Rovella, who has signed a four-year contract with Juventus until June 30, 2024, will most likely play for Genoa again next season
