Where in that quote does it signify in ANY way that would be difficult to place him? If anything he is speaking up his versatility, AM, Regista/ all around CM etc.

So I repeat, wtf are you on?

If you actually read what I said before that listing players like Arthur, Bentancur and post probably adding Locatelli this summer, you'd actually understand. But I wouldn't expect you too because typical Osman here has jumped the gun  ah yes where's that block feature that you still haven't figured out yet... works wonders on illiterate petulant girls

Whata weaseling attempt to deflect. I could care about other posts. I quoted THIS post:

I have absolutely no problems if Fagioli stays but going by Pirlo's words it's difficult to place how he'd fit over the next couple of years

Quote where Pirlo said this, its not hard, you litterally said like he actually said it, when actual quote of his him explaining Fagioli is versatile. Explain how it can be intepreted as the complete opposite like you are trying to do. It shouldnt be hard, unless you dont even understand your own words?

If Pirlo sees Fagioli as a regista that might actually help his case. Right now the only guy Pirlo trusts in that role is bentancur, and we know inconsistent he is.

If fabrotta can get starts, I don’t see why a superior talent like Fagioli couldn’t. Also, Fagioli is best friends with Pirlos son. Just need him to grease daddy up a bit and bada bing.

If it was only that simple. Wish it was. Frabotta plays because he only has ONE guy in entire squad ahead of him. And that same guy was injured for 2 months, and then spent weeks being on covid protocols etc. Basically Frabotta plays by absolute necessity. Automatic opportunity due to poor squad building.

While Fagioli debuted in late January, because the position and section of the team he plays in is our most stacked one by huge distance in our team (5-6 players in total for 2 positions, more players if you consider the AM role too). But yeah its good enough he got his chance and showed he is decent enough to be considered as an option to use. Thats all you can ask for, get opportunities, and convince the coach you deserve more opportunities.

like I said, if Pirlo sees Fagioli as a regista, he’s only got Bentancur ahead of him. Pirlo mentioned a couple days ago Arthur is better in a more advanced position. Rabiot isn’t a regista. Neither is McKennie.

He will never try Mckennie or Rabiot as regista, but he has tried Arthur there enough times, basically any time Bentancur isnt on the court. Not that his 2 man CM roles are that defined. Or organised. Not completely set in stone tactically enough to fully matter, tho yes the skillset part of the equation is obvious.

Only thing guranteed is neither Mckennie or Rabiot will never be tried there if its not an absolutue emergency. Former cuz he is as far away as possible from that (in fact its a miracle if he ever puts him in 2 man CM duty for a full 90 minutes). And the latter because even tho he is ok at it, he seems to be allergic to it (he kicked and screamed his way out of PSG for mere suggestion of playing holding mid).

Technically you could say Fagioli might be 3rd in picking order instead of 6th (I count Ramsey in the rotation) due to this tactical distinction, but for him to be elevated to that level of consideration in rotation, there are important hurdles to overcome:

He first needs to perform (and not just be considered a throwaway depth fodder like Portanova was) to get minutes in serious matches.

Secondly he needs to stay at the club lol. 3 more days until mercato closes.

Really?... nevermind then :p

From what I can recall: Fagioli is the ONLY homegrown player we have amongst these U23 fellas getting minutes/or call ups. As in came from our youth academy and fully eligible.

The rest generally either joined our club after age 18-19, havent been here more then 2 years (you need 3 uninterrupted years before 21 to count as homegrown in CL), or both. Some of them will fullfill this criteria with a year or two more in the club (Dragusin, De Graca, Rannochia, Portanova if he stayed etc). While for several others it was way too late due to age (Vrioni, Frabotta, Di Pardo, Wesley etc).

The former group is better policy, dont sign them older then 18, and keep long enough for them to become eligible before the plusvalenza addiction kicks in.

From memory only actual other full eligible youth academy player (besides the already sold Petrelli) I can recall from U23 side that I expected to eventually to see some hints of call up or minutes in future was Gozzi. But he seems to not even considered good enough for the U23 team, forget about any notion of senior team minutes lol.

This is why we need to keep any decent homegrown player we can produce. Wether its Fagioli or whoever, its good policy easily done by MANY top clubs, and because you badly need it in a ever more increasing squad restrictions. Makes sense in footballing level (core identity) and in pragmatic level (both for squag registration, and cheaper more sensibledeep depth, then overpaid/overqualified ageing mercenaries). Which is why it was an absolute shame we couldnt keep Kean at all.

It feels like Fagioli produced more forward passes in one game then Arthur has had in his entire Juve career so far.

This is the only game I have seen him play, so I can't really judge his potential. Would be nice to see someone from the youth (especially one who seems to be a big Juve fan) make it to the first team as a potential starter though.
