If he wasn't gambling on football then i question the hypocrisy of allowing all kinds of betting platforms to advertise and sponsor, clubs, like Jj for example, and then admonish gamblers. If he was betting on football then the kid is just irredeemable.
Betting on sports is a grey area (all sorts of connections in the sporting world via agents, federations, marketing events etc), betting on football should be an automatic, lengthy ban. If the player can eliminate reasonable doubt that match-fixing or event-fixing happened or that insider info was used, the length of the ban could be reduced.
