I certainly hope Del Piero makes the National Squad along with 'now or never' veterans....without excluding the Luca Toni's of course. Whereas once upon a time these guys knew they would be on the team no matter what they now realize that Germany is the last opportunity to see their names in the National side history books..that is motivation enough to 'cease the day'....even if its coming off the bench some of these guys could surprise us....

However, I wouldn't bring Vieri anymore. Unless something drastic happens to the rusty old tractor from now and then...

If I was Lippi, Vieri would not even be in the running as far as I'm concerned. The guy had his chance and right now he is taking a back seat at Milan while Luca Toni is consistently scoring goals for Fiorentina. We have seen what Vieri can do for the Azzurri and I must say I haven't been impressed for years now. Time to give the new guard a chance, and in reality this is how it should be because the new players are actually playing well.

Vieri would be so much better if the goal started about 4 feet off the ground. Then all his dazzling headers in NT play might actually amount to something.

I have a couple questions here...

Why do Inter's Irriducibili use the number 88 so much? Does it stem from Neo-Nazi influence and stand for "Hiel Hitler" or was the group just founded in 1988?

And what is the deal with the famous Interista Matteo Saronni? I assume he is in jail once again for his part in the San Siro flare debacle last April...was he a member of Irriducibili as well? And when will he be banned from stadiums for good? He has been pulling shit like that since 2001 when he dropped a moped from the second tier of the San Siro....what a crazy fvcker.

I think if Vieri hits form on the home stretch of the ensuing season, it would be hard to leave him out. His last few years on the NT has undone the good work and consistent goals pre 2000. However, I still think he could rise to the occasion, one last time.

The problem for Lippi is that he has so many italian forwards with good level, its difficult to choose. Gila, Cassano, Toni, DelPiero, Vieri, Totti Lucarelli, Flaschi, Miccoli, etc.

On the contrary, the italian Midfield has much fewer options and not of the same quality, There is where really our problems are....

I think the first six names you mentioned there are in all probability what we could expect up front in Germany. Although I'd throw Iaquinta into that list. And it could well come down to a head to head between him and Vieri for the final spot.

Iaquinta leaves training because of constipation...

Iaquinta sh*ts in a coffee can and says he is ok...

Cosmi and Co. don't include him in the line-up...

Sometimes Pado sh*tting in a coffee can is not the answer.

P.S. In addition to ignoring Seven I think we should all chip in 1$ and pay JaeCole to stay out of here with his witty ass slurping comments towards Claire and Emma. He can use the money how he sees fit...maybe get himself as Mr.George Thorogood recommends "a haircut and get a real job" :cheesy:
