I can't say how the next fifteen minutes will go ... whats your point? One makes assumptions on a game based on a team's past performance as a whole. As a result, given Milan's consitency in Europe AND Serie A vis-a-vis Liverpool's 5th place in Premier and 'shockers' in Europe I think its fair to say WHO the favorite is.
Milan were never in danger of getting booted out from PSV....the scoreline was never in PSV's favor to close the game. A miracle would have had to occur..it did not.
what a shame :D
Certainly, though that wasn't exactly what I was getting at.

Posted on that second point on another thread, no point doubling up here.

Funny you mention that. Because here is what gets me. For years I have been hearing the English sports media criticize Italian football, Italian coaches, Italian teams and Serie A as a whole for its 'playing style' and mentality. Labelling it 'boring'...anti-football, etc. Then we have little Liverpool which apparently to these journalists is evidence that English football is back.
The second game was far from that. Of course Liverpool will play defensively when they are in such a great position. Though it was hardly an 'Italian case', Liverpool attacked alot in the game. It was end to end attacking at many points.

Also I don't get where you are going with this. It's always been that way in Europe. The issue with English fans and Italian football has been about the Italian league (sure it was amplifed in last years CL final) but European stage is different and English teams have always played defensive football in it when it's the smart choice.

The negative press for Italian football in England is mostly about the games is over at 70minutes thing, how Italian teams often seem to just agree on a result and how Italian football is slow and almost dead at many points. None of those attributes can be put to the Liverpool - Chelsea game.

This game was like last years final? Hmm sorry I must have missed it when I was having heart murmors because of the tension. Last year I was finding it hard to stay awake.

However,
Hmmm interesting strategy...when Italians do it ..its called 'catenaccio'...when Liverpool does it they call it "heart"..perseverance, etc.
Sell that sh*t to the tourists....Liverpool 'ripped' a page from the catenaccio text book.
Shadowfax has wrote some very interesting points on that very topic on another thread which might interest you. He's obviously a far more intelligent fellow than me so I'll leave that :)

Actually no. Because what PSV did Liverpool cannot. Liverpool has not gotten to the final playing like PSV. Had Milan had a 2-0 goal lead on Liverpool it would have been a much less stressful night than tonight. Liverpool has not exactly exemplified 'offense' and attacking power.
Liverpool wouldn't have given away that two goal lead to a half assed Milan team in the first place.

Problem for Liverpool is this: Milan COMES UP BIG in the BIG GAMES. Its the small games they have trouble with. The Siena's..the Messina's...the Second legs after having a cushy lead, etc.
Milan put Inter away in the first match...they put Man U away and they put PSV away in the first match (sort of).
They hardly 'put away' Man Utd and Milan didn't COME UP BIG last year so maybe they won't this year.

I am actually happy Chelsea did not make it...for one year it puts the Russian's mentality of buying a CL title to rest and proves it can't be done that easily.
Agreed.

Though if they had won the hunger would have gone and Roman might have found a new toy to play with.

Oh, the match at Stamford Bridge was one of the most boring and inept matches I have ever seen in the Champions League. The passing was absolutely atrocious, even at a slower pace of play.

Emma:
Because although you never admit it and claim your actually SOOOOOOOOOOO anti-English in some ways its all bullsh*t. Its the reason you defend Cole. The reason you don't 'bag' on Shadowfax and the reason you would call an English rat better looking than an Italian model.
Ive never claimed im anti-english, that was Claire. And im not defending Cole at all, just think its cool how he has nailed Burke. I always wanted to do that.

I dont bag on shadowfax because I couldnt. Why dont you bag on him? Why dont you even respond to him. Everyone avoids shadowfax. Shadowfax also dosent post in this garbage so we hardly ever cross paths. I dont even think ive ever really posted with him.

Andy, Burke and Fliakis arent Italian, I said i think jaecole looks better because he does. As does Fabi so im not alone am I?

Besides I like you better than jaecole and your italian, this whole think isnt making any sense DICK :D

Now Roman will undergo another 50 million Euro shopping spree over the summer. Chelsea will win the Champions League within the next two years, 99% sure of it.

Yes Andy but that was one game not a history of the absolute opposite of the epl football. The press here called the stanford bridge match boring also. No one hyped that game so what is your point?

Besides Italian football is far from hated in England, it is infact extremely popular here.

I just don't see why we are discussing this. Many English fans don't like Italian football? Yes of course. As I'm sure many Italians don't like the English game. It's not some big movement like you guys are making out.

Wasn't talking to you but from what I've taken in (and believe me I take to much of this shit in, just ask Graham he understands the level of this :D) the only member here who truely 'challenged' Shadowfax was Kaiser Franco. Those two guys would go balls to the wall.

With you Andy you do get involved with him alot, but its mostly in a teacher student type thing and thats not a bad thing, atleast you dont hold off.

Nick always holds off even when Shadowfax directs something right at him. Im not bagging on anyone but Nick brought this shit up so..

Anyways I dont really like shadowfax, hes a bit of a knob infact (sorry :D) so I dont see any reason AT ALL for Nicks last post. Its sad that he has to post such things because I never have and never will rate people on nationality.

Because there is a double standard. The press was all over the Final in 2003, saying such things as "no more Boring All-Italian Finals" or some other nonsense of the sort. Then an all-English Semi-final comes around and for some reason the English aren't so quick to castigate the match, some even saying the first leg was not as bad as the Trafford Finale. It's the double standard and the stereotyping that was present in 2003, but for some reason not now, not last week. Just doesn't add up.

I must of missed Liverpool's 10 seconds of attacking. Was it in between the 1000 backpasses or in between the Red Wall they built in front of their goal?
Mourinho did have a point in saying "the better team lost"...maybe because finally the catenaccio strategy has hit English Football.
P.S. Remind me how Liverpool attacked Juve in the second match....I thought I saw them wait for the counter-attack to score...a clever way of saying 'we defend till the end'.

    As for half-assed team...
Please help me understand who was going to stop half assed attackers such as Kaka, Shevchenko and Crespo? Was it the world renound English defenders? Or the English mid-fielders who consider possession dumping the ball and chasing.

By the way, anyone who saw the MIlan-Man U game KNOWS they put that old horse to 'sleep'. They controlled from a to z...and defenders such as COSTACURTA (39 years old) marked supposed 'wonderboy' Christian Ronaldo...90 minutes later C. Ronaldo was walking out of San Siro in shock and Costacurta was preparing for the semi's.
    Did you watch the game?

P.S. I'm not sure what you are referring to but you are just helping my argument: last year Milan lost in the second leg to Deportivo in the quarter finals after having a 4-1 lead in the first leg. Thus, coming up short in second legs. I think I had mentioned that in my prior post.
Milan did not make the final last year.
Also..what final are you referring to about falling asleep? Porto's win?
What does that have to do with our argument.

Anyhow....cheers..enjoy the second place medal ;)

While watching the Milan game today, I starting having a flashback to the Deportivo match

Why didnt they start Crespo and play the style they normally play ???

Silvio would have had Ancelloti's head on a platter had they pissed away this game.......

Andy the guy thing. What I was on was if you compare Burke to Jaecole.

When Jaecole is talking about girls he always plays it down, every single time. When he was talking about that chick Burke posted some of his ex girlfriends, like it was competition. Like Burke was the man too, Jae didnt even catch on and didnt care to compete at all.

Conclusion: Burke lacks it in the real world. Jae can have most girls he wants.

You are kinda like Burke in that. Incubo is kinda like Jae except sometimes he busts out with some major hormone moments, I think thats just because he is italian though :D

I love making this shit up btw, its probably way off but of well :D

Burke didnt I just essentially say that.

Though at the time that was sarcastic. Incubo was a royal prick and i was too nice to say 'Incubo you are a fuckhead' plus that wouldnt have fitted on he page :D

    Please remove the pic btw.

Teacher-student type thing? Well perhaps it seems that way because he's about twice my age, however we have debated over a few issues, mostly about English football. He always tries to pin me down for some of my outlandish opinions.

I don't and if you look back Sherlock you will find some jabs back and forth. He just does not post out of his arse most of the time and often times we are in agreement...just today he was the only one to give a thumbs up to Milan for holding their ground and showing class. The other legally retarded posters in the matches threads were posting harvard thesis samples like "AMBROSINI AND MILAN SUCKS STINTKY CRAP"

I agree it was some scary sh*t today Vin....thank God we have some Italian presence in the final.
I think he was resting Crespo for Juve...he was insistent on the Christmas Tree formation.

Fine, though still my point is made. If you dont attack how the hell would I. Plus I have no reason to because he dosent post such crap towards me that you do.

Well Andy looks like a Yayo in some pics and Burke has that prick/schmuck smile in most pics that brings down his 'quality'!
No its not a close call. Jae is essentially a better looking guy than both of them. Its not hard to see dont think everything is gay or a call for sex.

Mac is better looking than them all. To put things into perspective.

    I prefer C*CK actuallly..it has more bite.
That will make a great signature for someone ;)

So you agree then that your last post was absolute shit. It really was.
