Andy, havent got time to answer properly now... but a quick reply.

The triad to blame due to doping... Not a chance

The triad to blame due to their policies regarding the fans?

In part yes, as you know fighters have been at odds with giraudo for the last few years... this has indeed had an effect. But we are talking a very small change.. not the decline we have seen.

There are several small contributing factors (eg. giraudo, ticket prices, stadium, dislike of capello now and ancelotti before...etc)

But even togeather they only make up for a small loss in numbers.

Lets get rid of a couple of myths...

Torino is a toro city.... Fvck off... absolute rubbish, torino is very much split down the middle with juve and toro fansc plus a fair amount of milan, genoa and atalanta fans... your average footballing city really.

Many people I think have this impression from when we played at comunale. Waliking to comunale through the housing estates and the street market you would generally meet more toro fans, but not in the stadium or the city as a whole

If you look at toro's ticket sales they have only averaged higher than juve in 2 years of the past 40 and have rarely been more than half of juves.. less than a third at this time.

The stadium... Not to blame for the drop in sales at all (stops some people from outside travelling to torino... yes but not accountable for the drop)
We had the fans in the delle alpi before and still do for certain matches... its not about the stadium.

I feel there are 2 factors besides the smaller issues allready mentioned :

1. The smaller of the two but anyone that has regularly attended over the past years, knows it to have had a relatively large effect.

The collapse of irriducibli... prior to their folding ,there was a great atmosphere at the stadium with great battles between fighters and irriducibli... The 2 groups made for a much greater experience and made other fans come back again and again.

Since their departure and the lack of organisation in curva nord there is noticebly less fans in every section of the stadium barring curva scirea which as allways remains strong.

Its not the same place as it used to be.

2. The most important one and the cause of declining figures all across italy (we jus fell quicker) and in spain as well... England also reported lowered attendances for the first time this year.

Look it up... even the likes of milan ,inter , roma and lazio have had their share of very poor attendances in the last year and a half. (their's is less noticeable so far but look at the small matches and coppa games and you can see the trend starting... they jus have more higher attendance matches to keep the average up.... even milan lazio last week (which i attended) was no where near full, not as bad as us by any stretch but still less than previously.. the trend is beginning.)

The one thing that is killing our attendances and football on every level, from every angle... TV

Tv is the killer of our ticket sales and the killer of clubs throughout the world.... Without action ,TV will kill football fullstop.

Havent got time for any thing else or any real detail at the mo... later

Thanks for your reply Paul.

That is sort of what I was thinking, less problems with the supporters between the Traid and doping trial, and more that stem from the nonexistence of a fan base in the Curva Nord.

Never really thought that much about the TV deals, but it makes some sense for some people to stay home and just order Sky to watch all Juventus matches. The price is fairly high I believe, so that may take away from the fan's spending power to buy actual tickets to Delle Alpi.

I never really thought there was a problem with the stadium because fans will come out no matter where the team plays. Come to think of it I always thought it was a the lack of supporters in Turin that had an effect on the attendences, however that notion does seem wrong now.

So what happened to the Irriducibili?
Supposedly the Irriducibili disbanded after they criticised Lippi and the sqaud for the poor results in the Fall of 2001. In retaliation Juventus refused to give them tickets to away matches and the two entities never really spoke to each other again. The Irriducibili did make up with Lippi though. Paul will be able to add more insight.

That is something I never understood about the Juventini ... (game attending Juventini)..you cannot accept a person into the 'circle'..Ancelotti was shat on to no end..Capello is still not given the time of day. We had to swallow Pippo and his ugly chagrin every time he scored against us but then the CURVA quickly forgot all that and accepted him ... he even became a CURVA favorite..if WE can accept Pippo...ANYONE can be accepted.

Yeah really I just don't get it. I heard even Ibrahimovic was booed after the match Sunday even though we won and he had the opening goal.

Saving myself hours trying to re-post it, I found it...

Go to the thread that River started "post your picture" , in the Multimedia section. You'll have to select the threads from the last 100 days. Find that thread, and look on page 9
