well, that is a popular game but not really part of young culture like hockey might be. simply because NHL gets a kid millions per year so their parents encourage them to play hockey. but there a lot of others who play curling for fun


imagine, they have the curling competition around march-april so i used to miss all the CL at that time but this year i heard a different station bought the rights for the curling one

I watched some of the World all-stars against the Russian all-stars last night on TSN. Hasek was playing net for the World team. He looked ok, even though it was 4-1 Russia when I turned it off....Domi was playing, Amonte, Federov,etc

I must say I like the Euro size rink better. Theres more stick-handling, and none of the traps that NJ is notorious for

The best player the on Red Wings is Nick Lidstrom, but Pavel Datsyuk is catching up. Pavel will be one of the best players in the NHL for years to come, along with Henrik Zetterberg.

I am of course opposed to the salary cap nonsense, and I am not sure how much good it will do for teams in general. I know the Red Wings are not going to like it, thats for sure. However I am not worried because we have one of the best scouting systems in Europe; just look at the players we have found and their draft position.

Tie Domi a dirty player??? Naaaah, its a great little player. You're just jealous that Montreal has no real team fighters out there. Kovalev could learn a few things from Mr. Domi. But I will concur that Darcy Tucker is the league's top stick slasher.

Yeah those traps are focking horse shit in Ice Hockey. I hope that the League will increase the size of the Blue lines to create more transition play and get rid of the team's ability to play "Crap" hockey. This will also make hockey more exciting, something that the league needs.

And you complain about the Yankees. The Yankees never caused Major League Baseball to nearly collapse onto itself, especially when they dole out an extra 150 million dollars a year to luxury tax and revenue sharing programs that other teams don't.

Ownerships like Detroit's and New York's however, are what ultimately might be the downfall of the NHL. A Salary cap or luxury tax is a must for the 4th major sport to survive. Also, contract the league by about 6 teams as well.

Thats a load of crap Sergio. This "downfall" of the NHL was started by the idiot League commisioner Gary Bettman and his desire to put a team in some of the most idiotic locations in the country. This stupid expansionary plan put a team in Phoenix, which has basically never had a real fan base for hockey considering its in the MIDDLE OF THE DESERT. Moreover, he decided to put a team back in Minnesota; a place wgere the North Stars came and went and for some strang reason pro hockey is not valued there. Also he puts another team in Atlanta of all places. Idiot Bettman put strain on the system by making teams that are not at all profitable. Dont blame Mike Illitch for having a lot of money to spend and making good Pizza. Without the success and marketability of the Red Wings the league would be shovelling shit behind the local Ice rink.
