Why dont you get some heart, courage, and BALLS to get into the ring pal before you start crtisizing someone else !!!!
Well, despite never having seen a fight nor knowing something about it, I believe heart and courage are more important than technique. Or am I terribly wrong and was it really an insult?

Technique is everything, along with timing and strategy, not just heart, punching speed, and punching power.

It wasn't really an insult, it was more an understatement of Mancini's talent. Its great to have heart and courage, but that just personifies the "dumb jock" bias that is prevelant in the Boxing World. Mike Tyson, for instance, is a case of lightbulbs short of a chandelier, but when it came to boxing, he was a brilliant tactician who picked and chose his spots on where to atack, and when. In his prime, he would just dissect you within the first two minutes of a fight, and knew what plan to carry out.

Ray was the same way. In that weight class, there's a lot more strategy and technique going on than your run-of-the-mill slugfests, because quite frankly, a lot of those guys don't have that one-knockout punch power in the lighter ranks. Only now, do you start to see lightwieghts and junior welterweights start to have serious punching power, but that's due to the evolution of the human race as much as anything.

Kim was not the first fighter to die in the ring, and he was not the last to die, either. However, because of Kim a lot fighters have died (probably). After the Mancini fight boxing referees stopped fights before it got too ugly, and this greatly changed the sport.

I dont think that Eaglesnake saw too many of my cousins fights, because if he did, he would have seen my cousin box the ears off some of his opponents

Just because he didnt do the "Ali shuffle" and dance around and make a show of it, doesnt mean he didnt out-box most of his opponents

First of all, Vinman, i want to offer you my apologise, i didnt mean to offend or insult you or your family, i was unaware that you were related to Ray Mancini.

Second, I respect very much boom boom career and saw lots of is fights. As i say, i still sustain that he was incredibly couragious and someone who really never give up, that was the reason he get to the top, but his boxing habilities where in the short range fight, and when he got in the ring with fighters of high techique he was in trouble.

third, i probably havnot a big heart neither being very courageuos but, yes,i had the balls for being in the ring 4 times and knows what it feels to be K.O.........

He just got picked up by the Vikings this week.

Let's see:

Kicks indoors for at least 8 games of the season, and plays on one of the best offensive teams in football.

I'll take my chances.

And my team name is one that I've used for 10 years, and I've used for other leagues as well.

"Heywood Jablowme"

I'm also heading to the Patriots game tonight. A friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go.

Hmm, National Television, Pre-Game ceremony unveiling the championship banner, BEYONCE KNOWLES  How could I refuse??

Pure Class :cheesy: And I was expecting something lowbrow like "The Flying Fvk Faces from Federal Hill"
