It is a pretty cool video, Rami. Nice piece of work, and thanks for sharing. :)

While I've been on roadtrips to Juve matches myself, they've been nothing like this social affair. Perhaps the only thing missing is my romanticized notions from the likes of A Season in Verona (referencing your post in the match fixing thread)...

i.e., Fondo, between drunken swigs of lemoncello, yelling, "C'è una bomba!" :D

(So I have this image of Rami yelling on the train, ""Autista di merda! Autisa cornuto! Non arrestar tramite le porte!")

:D And my favorite:

L'autista va, senza di capelli
Sul autostrada sfonda e caselli
Indifferente! Brutto pela!
E che la vaca che te l'ha caga

Know that shit by heart, brotha.

Pado, have you been following the situation with Mike Nifong? That guy is a fucking douchebag. Not to mention the Women Studies professors at Duke University. All of them should be burned at the stake for this.

It's hard not too, I have to walk through the hoards of Court TV personalities and CNN fucktards everyday just to get to work. Parking is another issue.

Believe me, I know Nifong quite well and I cannot find it in me to muster any sympathy for the guy. I've had to negotiate with the guy some 18 times over the past few years, and he was a cunt 17 of those times. The one time he warmed up to me and was cool was when I recognized the obsucre They Might Be Giants song he was blaring in his office. The man loves his music.

Anyway, he's out as Durham County's D.A. and god save whomever is next to serve in that shit hole of stinking corruption and inefficiency.

Man, I never knew you had to deal with that guy, thinking you just worked with defendants around Cary and Raleigh. That is some pretty fucked up yet interesting shit. If I was you right now, I would probably not even be trying to muster any sympathy for the guy. He's just another example of what's wrong with the justice system within this country... there are probably Nifongs in every other county around these parts.

And I seriously doubt anybody would be idiotic enough to give him another job after all this bullshit. His license should be revoked immediately.

I feel certain that Nifong will be disbarred for the ususal 5 year term. If he's not, then the State Bar is going to have to answer some serious questions and risk complete loss of the public's confidence.

While this Nifong shit was going on at the Bar (one block North), we had a State Trooper on trial on the 5th Floor of our courthouse. He was charged with perjury and contempt of court for fabricating evidence (basically just lying) during a DWI trial. In the end, he wound up cutting a deal to just plead to Contempt, but the judge hit him hard and made the findig of fact that this Trooper was a "habitual liar". Now, the guy is useless to the Highway Patrol. How can he ever be believed at trial?

Mostly just Wake County (Raleigh), but I do venture in to 4 of the bordering counties. Though I quit going to Durham shortly after Nifong was installed as the D.A. (Initially appointed by the Governor when his predecessor was appointed to the Superior Court bench, then elected by unwashed masses based entirely on his crusade against Duke Univ.)

I always dealt with him as an Asst. D.A.

Being the man went to his head worse then even I imagined.

Sounds like something going on in Centre County (State College) recently. Apparently the Centre County Sheriff has been giving leading officers a cut in the money gained from their various DWI Checkpoint fines distributed over the past few years. I guess that gives a whole new meaning to discretion incentives.

Rami, you are officially by far the coolest person on this forum. :D Imagine all these people sitting at home posting, dreaming of going to a game, let alone mingling with locals on the train. :D

These kids you ran into really crack me up :howler:
It's just a futile attempt to shed off some of my geeky skin :nerd:...now I am back to figuring out how to import HDV videos on Linux :D

Thanks man :pint:

Unfortunately the driver was a good 9-10 carts away :D, not that I would've said anything, lemme just master some Italian, and then I'll go for those bastardi;)

Ya that Fondo bit was hilarious, one of the fav parts in the book, plus the scene when one of the guys lost his Verona 1985 caps @ Bari. And the mooo-tooo part :D

Speaking of Verona they lost to Spezia yesterday in the playoffs, that oughta show Timmy boy not to bad mouth Juve and Delpie in his books :D

Anyways I don't think I even have come close to what Tim Parks experienced in his exploits with Verona, but I guess its a good start for a first timer....

great video, Rami :pint:
Thanks Vinnie :pint: one day all of us will be singing our lungs out on the terraces ;)

I especially love the Inter chants. Those are some to memorize for drunken bus or train trips, that's for sure.
I can't even start to describe it man, it's exhilarating!

That was one of my favorite parts of the book. One Hellas supporter lost his cap on the Bari side of the police fencing, and the Veronese were cheering them on to throw it back. For some reason the Bari supporters did, and the Hellas supporters started applauding Bari and giving them praise. Then albeit three minutes later, they rang in again with their "Bari Bari vaffanculo" chants. :lol2:

Nick and I discussed this before and I've come to the semi-conclusion that this is Italy. Very much like the Berlusca elections, favors are applauded in the short term but forgotten quickly in the realm of politics.

Lol ya, after receiving the cap they started chanting "Lecce Lecce Vaffanculo" :D, then after that they started taunting the west side (the favor was done from the east)...Hilarious!

Yes. It was early days in the scandal, before everybody knew that the allegations were completely fabricated. Durham County is predominantly Black, and this case split the community along racial lines pretty well. So Nifong squeezed a narrow victory by throwing gasoline on this fire every single day.

That, and his opponent was Freda Black, famous for prosecuting novelist Mike Peterson for murdering his wife and claiming she fell down the stairs. Freda had problems in that when she was prosecuting she started fucking a guy up on domestic violence charges and she ended up dismissing his charges. And, oh yes, she is FULL BLOWN BAT SHIT CRAZY.

Funny that Nifong was the lesser of two evils in that race.
