Before I started listening to Illmatic my favorite was the Eminem Show, but that's because I'm a biased little bastard. Illmatic is my favorite.

But come on, people have their own opinions and I really don't think the Chess track is that great. It's not as good as Memory Lane or Represent from Illmatic, or Blunt Ashes or The Message for that matter. Infact I find it kind of stupid.

No doubt, I love some Coldplay. I've been a huge fan ever since I saw them play on Austin City Limits. At the end of their set they played Kingdom Come (which is an omage to Johnny Cash) acoustic and then went into a three song medly (Ring of Fire, Walk The Line, and maybe Get Rhythm). It was crunk nasty as some would say. 
I think that whole fiasco made it apparent. Their elitist approach has helped create an environment of credibility for any crackhead hooker who might accuse any whitebread Dookie NY expat of heinous racist crimes.

Ah, Winston-Salem. The only town I've ever had a dinner among all white guests, was served by all black wait staff, and nobody else thought it was spooky as all hell. ("So when do we put on the table cloths and burn crosses on the lawn of the baptist church next door?")
Vaz Té is an interesting story. I am a huge, huge fan of him, even though he has his detractors who say he can't perform at the top levels. Part of why I am a big fan is his abilities -- creative on the wing or behind the box, limber for a big man, and great sense of position in front of goal (some mean headers). But for a number of countries, he doesn't offer what they can't already get in native skills from the locals, etc.
But in Portugal, he brings a whole different dimension. Out on the pitch, I can best compare him to a basketball power forward -- physical strength, size, and yet the dexterity to move around and move the ball around. Something that nobody in Portugal really offers in front of the opposing goal -- I mean, Pauleta? Nuno Gomes? Helder Postiga? Even Hugo Almeida for that matter. So what happens is the team plays very differently with him on the pitch -- not unlike what Deco does to their adult squad's offensive midfield.
I would never consider him for Juve at this stage (he plays bench for Bolton for crying out loud). Part of what's great about him is the unique role he can play where Portugal has no other. Juve can import that a bit easier. But who knows as the guy develops -- he's still young and still strikes me as pretty unique. Definitely one of my favorite players in the sport, however.
