Vaz Té is an interesting story. I am a huge, huge fan of him, even though he has his detractors who say he can't perform at the top levels. Part of why I am a big fan is his abilities -- creative on the wing or behind the box, limber for a big man, and great sense of position in front of goal (some mean headers). But for a number of countries, he doesn't offer what they can't already get in native skills from the locals, etc.

But in Portugal, he brings a whole different dimension. Out on the pitch, I can best compare him to a basketball power forward -- physical strength, size, and yet the dexterity to move around and move the ball around. Something that nobody in Portugal really offers in front of the opposing goal -- I mean, Pauleta? Nuno Gomes? Helder Postiga? Even Hugo Almeida for that matter. So what happens is the team plays very differently with him on the pitch -- not unlike what Deco does to their adult squad's offensive midfield.

I would never consider him for Juve at this stage (he plays bench for Bolton for crying out loud). Part of what's great about him is the unique role he can play where Portugal has no other. Juve can import that a bit easier. But who knows as the guy develops -- he's still young and still strikes me as pretty unique. Definitely one of my favorite players in the sport, however.
At age 20 all that ^ seems like a player in the making. Perhaps he just needs to be nurtured under a different coach or system. I saw a couple of highlights from the U21 EC matches and a few from U21 WC Qualifiers and he caught my eye.

Thanks for that man ;)

Well I guess in both cases it's wrong, I believe that religions should be respected and not be turned into a propaganda vehicle. But of course the opposition if the situation was reversed, as Vinnie proposed, would be massive. We could throw around but's and if's all day long Vin, but the fact is that nothing will be resolved until WE learn to accept the other...

Meh, so what...I hate Catholics....or the Catholic religion.
Probably not as many as the Danish cartoon brought to the streets.
Probably not as many as if I came in George Bush's face on a live speech on every channel....

George Bush, Ted Bundy, Charles Manson, John Wayne Gacy, Tom Cruise, Marcello Balboa, Sylvester Stallone, McCarthey, Ronnie "I take money out of medical funding for Alzeimers then I ironically get it" Reagan, Bobby Padovano, Brigham Young, L. Ron Hubbard.....and this guy......

Jesus Christ, Burke. I'm in a fucking Penn State computer lab... without my ID. I don't need to see that fucking bullshit.

Do yourself a favor and watch that Real Football Factory shit right now... they even have footage of Marco tossing that scooter of the second tier of the Meazza. But the Italian Ultras are tame compared to the Grobari of Partizan.

eh... as I see it, that's exactly what they are meant to be. I mean "if you don't believe in god you'll go to hell", how is that not spreading propaganda?

Which is also wrong, one shouldn't judge others, leave that to God. I would never claim you will be going to hell Marty.

hehe cmon now you're skirting the issue ;)

Religion is defined through religious organizations, right? And these organizations have religious leaders, right? And these leaders profess the religion? Right, so they are spreading this propaganda, aren't they?

I'm just saying propaganda is the be all and end all of religion. May be offensive to some to use that term but whatever you want to call it, it's spreading of "information" of some kind. And very central to it is the theme of scaring you into doing something you otherwise wouldn't do.
