Dear Norwegians...

Is this grammatically right:

"Jeg snakke norsk"?

Shouldn't there be a "r" after snakke?
Indeed. You probably encountered some silly dialect. People who speak in dialect sometimes don't know the correct grammar.

The most prolific scorers in Europe are the Dutch, with more than three per game. The Bundesliga has managed 2.75, then the Scottish Premier and Serie A come in together at just over 2.5 goals per game. Everyone knows all the best defenders are in Italy, and the dodgiest goalkeepers are in Scotland; now there is a new stereotype to add to the list - the non-scoring striker in England.

See...I knew it. I told my cousin, who's for some reason learning Norwegian :disagree: that who ever told him that, that sentence doesn't make sense...the "r" has to be there in order for it to be adjective (or what ever) :D

You know what I mean :D

We actually say "snackar", but it's informal in Swedish, but I get the feeling in Norwegian it's part of the regular language, am I right?
Yeah, snakke is the most common verb. There's also prate which is a bit more slang-y. Finally there's tale, which is totally pompeous. :D

This is exactly what I tell my cousin, these small differences tick me off :D We use prata formally and even though "tala" is the same we never say "jag talar svenska"...that just doesn't make any sense to say, so we use "pratar".

I have been stalking Catarina Furtado -- host of the RTP program, Dança Comigo -- since I was in Portugal a couple months back. Since then, I have started developing feelings towards her finer footwear, and now I am very confused.

I have never developed feelings towards women's shoes before, and I have heard very bad stories of genuinely great guys who have shamefully turned to lewd relations with women's socks ... because they weren't very careful. This won't happen to me, will it?

I am not used to these feelings and am not sure what to do with them. Do you have any suggestions? Please help!

I'm afraid you're going to have to give it up, Andy. College football is four years tacked on to high school football with a boatload of cash piled on top of it under the tax-exempt pretext of "academic athleticism".

I say screw the educational pretense, allow NFL teams to create youth squads and farm clubs (at least something closer to baseball), and get it all above the table. If it is a business, and it is, run it like one and call it one. Don't call it or pretend it to be something else. Then shams like the BCS have nowhere to hide.

Well that's the thing... I don't really like the NFL. College football is much more interesting than anything the NFL has to offer. So I guess I'm stuck with watching the BCS instead of Pink dancing around on NBC as being the only highlight of the freakshow we call Sunday Night Football.

Would anybody here like to take a vacation in the Great Plains and chase tornados for two weeks on end? God, I think I would be in heaven. You have got to love the beauty of mother nature and her tools for population control.

By the way, they actually have tour companies that shuttle people to the nearest hotbed of supercell activity to give people a first-hand perspective of tornado chasing.
