But by that logic, wouldn't be ridiculous to support any team after a certain age? I mean the definition of a team is universal no matter what sport or league or division you reside in... so why is it that you cannot support your alma mater?
Not an unreasonable debate point. It does make sense to support your alma mater after you graduate. But with time, your college experience represents something less and less relevant to your current life with time.

And in actuality, wouldn't supporting a college team be more beneficial to the community than supporting the Baltimore Ravens? I mean, buying a Penn State jersey at the school bookstore translates into monetary return for the university as a whole, am I right? While on the other hand your purchase of the Ravens jersey goes to people who are just in it for the money..
Who said we support teams out of supporting the community? I mean, how many of us here live anywhere near Torino? :) My point was less about support and more about the fact that school sports are, well, part of a school curriculum. And while both are school-based, college gets treated a whole lot differently later in life than high school -- in a way that cannot be merely explained as "college - 4 years".

Oh please let there be some truth to this:

Tuttosport
Party+Goals = Juve
Double Trezeguet, Del Piero on 199, Nedved scores with a header
Wiretaps: Inter in the eye of the scandal
De Santis accuses Moratti, an investigation could be opened

One minute Mr. Moratti was all smiles in his seat, while mancini was laughing it up on the bench. Sure, Inter was up 4-0 in the 80th minute. Then, about one second later with the score 4-3, Moratti was chain smoking cigarettes and looking exactly the way he did on May 5, 2002. Mancini was out of the dugout and pacing the sidelines screaming at his players and muttering to himself.

Inter won 4-3, but they left the pitch feeling as if they had lost. :p
