Here, all you do is get in the car with them (your own car), and drive around for 15 minutes in the local town. The only special manoeuvre is that you pull up next to a long, empty curb (which they lead you to), and you reverse 100 feet while staying within 3 feet of the curb. Other than that, you just drive around for 10 minutes, then go back and the dumb Azn bitch tells you that you endangered a biker

It's different in every state, I think, but in California you're eligible for a Permit when you're 15 and a half. The permit allows you to drive with any licensed driver 25 years or older in the front seat with you, and to get one you have to complete drivers ed (theory), which I did online. The drivers ed is really a big joke, if you go to the classes you actually learn, but the website I did it on was a complete money scam. You just have to pass 5 ten question multiple choice quizzes, with a score of 7 or higher, and you have as many chances as you like, so you just guess and most likely pass them all first time.
Once youve finished that, and enrolled in a behind-the-wheel school, you can apply for your permit, which you get by passing a 50 question theory test, which is really easy. I just guessed them all and passed
After you've held a permit for 6 months, are 16 years old, and have finished 6 hours of professional driver training, you can take the behind the wheel test, which i failed.
It's really all a joke. 80% of the kids that have licenses here would shit themselves if they tried to drive in europe. No one even drives a manual car (im the only one i know of), they all have automatic SUV's
Yea that's exactly what happened. I did look, I just didn't do a super exaggerated turn-your-head look.

I still struggle with parking. Been practicing for ages and I still have no idea how much space I got on any side. 
Yeah, sure, if you drop the drinking age to 16.
However for us it's very different than for you guys. We don't have satisfactory public transport. It's not like cities where you can walk 5 minutes to meet up with your friends, your friends, on average, live like 3-5 miles away. There are only trains between cities, not local destinations, and the buses are literally only used by the poorest of the poor. Cars are absolutely neccesary here, it's not like in a major city where you can get away without owning one. Before online shopping came out, without a car it was impossible to get food
Here, maybe 98% of kids drive automatics. I'm actually glad that I have a manual just to be different

Everytime I try to park, the following process takes place:
1. I pull in
2. I notice that I'm not going to make it in the spot
3. I yell "FUCK"
4. I reverse out
5. I repeat the process a few more times, until I get it semi-right
Be that as it may, in them SUVs they have more margin for error. Something goes wrong it's not quite as bad as in a sedan..
Friend of mine back in high school was studying to take the exam back in Hungary (cause it was cheaper duh). They made him learn first aid as a compulsory part of the training. Figures that's the only part he failed, he could drive just fine.
