I can't say there is ANYTHING wrong with that. Rooney kicks someone in the nuts, Ronaldo is trying to get him a card because that's quite obviously in the advantage of his team and everyone is raging mad. Besides, what if they're not close friends?
That's certainly one way of looking at it. I will do my best to be as little biased as possible, given my avatar of the past month...

Rooney got his just desserts, claim or no claim about relativistic arguments about how this WC has been officiated. And yet it's pretty clear in some circles that Ronaldo is being pointed out for poor sportsmanship while Rooney's cleats-to-the-nuts antics are being overlooked in all of this.

That said, Ronaldo gives a lot of reasons for people to hate him. He's young and talented and acts like he knows it to a degree above and beyond his actual abilities. He's got an ego problem. (Of course, we have had this problem for the past two years within our own club, btw.) He runs emotionally hot and cold like a manic depressive. Recently he seems to make a lot of nervous face twiches (pursing lips and weird crap like that), which I think the people who already hate him read more into his empty head than what's really there.

I didn't see anything wrong with pleading his case to the ref in Rooney's dismissal. If this was a Juve-Arsenal clash and it was Vieira pleading to the ref about some foul that Henry pulled, nobody would be giving him crap about it -- let alone give him crap about doing it against his France NT teammate. But as he was walking towards the touchline, he gave a wink. For England fans, that was a no class move as if he was out to eject Rooney -- and that argument has merit. But for Portugal fans, that wink was read more as a mutual appreciation with his teammates that justice was served by the ref.

Im still not over how good the RHCP were three years ago when I saw them
Frusciante and Kiedis are legends. The way Kiedis was jumping on stage was awesome and those Frusciante solos are breathtaking. I also loved their constant discussions about what song to play next :D.

Random comment of the day:

On Thursday, a Scotsman walked in to the store, and we started talking about football. He told me he had tried out for Man U, where he got to play with George Best.

I didn't see England-Portugal, but I understand Rooney kicked Ricardo Carvalho in the balls. Ronaldo asked for an absolutely deserved red card and now Ronaldo is criticised everywhere in England?

it was a long way from a "kick"

With or without his clothes and a 10cm-high pile of coke on the coffee table? :p

He didn't mention the coke, but he did mention the bottle. He said that this was right after they had let go of some guy who was incharge of keeping Best in control, and as soon as he left, Bests' career went downhill. That's what he said.

It's probably everyone's favorite, but I'd have to go with 'Under the Bridge', though favorites also include 'Can't Stop' (best intro ever) and 'Californication'. 'Scar Tissue' is a miracle as well.

Juve to C, Milan to B

Public prosecutor Palazzi has stated his claims in the Italian fraude trial. He will fight to have Juve relegated to Serie C, where they will start the season with a 6 point deduction. The Bianconeri would also lose their last 2 titles. AC Milan, Lazio Roma and Fiorentina would be relegated to Serie B, with a point deduction of 3, 15 and 15 respectively.

Luciano Moggi (Juventus), Antonio Giraudo (Juventus), Claudio Lotito (Lazio), Franco Carraro (Italian FA) and Massimo de Santis (Refereeing Association) are facing five years in jail. Adriano Galliani (Milan) two years.

Source: www.vi.nl

So a clear distinction between Juve and the other clubs/persons involved. That's only fair.

Serie C with a 6 point deduction is harsh though...
