Saida is also on the coast, it is around 50 km (I am not sure) south of Beirut, not my place of city. The villages to the east of Saida are nice but there is not much to do there. There is a town called Sour (Tyr) wich is also around 60 km south of Saida, this is an amazing place and you get to eat the best fish there.
I will be in Lebanon in September, be a good boy and you'll taste something special.

Any currency would do actually. If you take US dollars with you, in no time you will be holding Leb pounds and vice versa. The US dollars are hard to use in small shops but if you pay in US dollars at one place, it is very probable that they will return in Leb pounds for you.

I wanna book a flight right now & come. I didnt know that there is a very large Armenian community in Lebanon,i always thought that my friend was Lebanese & he explanied the entire situation to me.
what time do the banks & government offices usually close? i apologise if im asking too much,its just that i want my friend to think im not coming & to surprise him at the batchelor party.
Banks close at 17:00 but their work with the cutomers close at 14:00 if I am not mistaken. Government offices close at 14:00 but around noon they become lazy. Never show up at a government office as early as when they open, they start working for real an hour later. Keep in mind that between 10:00 and 11:00 they will be having coffee and that's also a no no. You can go there but you have to suffer their bad mood.
Yes, there are many Armenians in Lebanon, I consider them Lebanese now as they are third generations. There are still first generation but they are few. I live in an area where Armenians are dominant; nice people.

I have to warn you about something. If you want to surprise him, there is something you have to consider, public transportation. It is is not something you can rely on. You can rent a car but that means you have to learn how to drive the Lebanese way and you HAVE to ask for directions; don't rely on maps

I agree 100%...Figo was given a yellow for a head butt and Rooney a red for a push which we see every other play. Portugal are by far the dirtiest and most unsportsmanlike team in the WC....divers (Maniche) actors (C. Ronaldo) and class (sign in the first game: Where is Greece...defensive football go home). England outplayed them and created more in 10 men than they did in 11...hoping this team faces Italy for an arse whippin of biblical proportions...
