Just to add a little more controversy, I think Baggio is the most pumped up Italian player ever. Great WC '90, superb WC '94, a touching effort in '98 and in between the biggest case of mercenarism of the past 20 years after Bobo Vieri. He has remained faithful throughout his career to the nickname Gianni Agnelli had coined for him : "coniglio bagnato", literally "wet rabbit" or more prosaically "p*ssy". Something Del Piero, despite all his shortcomings, will never be accused of.

Libero, I don't see how Baggio has been more 'over inflated' with the National than DP. I do see what you mean about his Serie A stint...he would hop teams for an extra water bottle. I think the most under appreciated has been Maldini. Had he played for Juve I have no doubt he would have a God Like Status in the World...some may argue he does but he was over shadowed in terms of coverage by other players for the NT

Today an Italian told me he hopes Czech beats Italy and Italy does not make the next round because of the presence of Juve and Milan players on the team and the fact they are corrupt...
I had to laugh it off or I would have ripped his head off...apart from players not being guilty for actions of the board I asked him whether it had to do with the fact that NO INTER PLAYERS apart from Hack-a-razzi was on the team making their contribution sweet fvck all...
Though not as open as him I see many Interisti as very critical of the team ... what a sad bunch of fvckers...

I know there are huge DP fans like Azzurri and Vinman..I don't mean to be little the player and I would want nothing more than for him to prove me wrong and score like there is no tomorrow unfortunately, I lost all confidence in him scoring because I have never seen him attain the same pace internationally as he has in Serie A...I would love for Alex to be our generations Paolo Rossi but I really doubt it will happen...

Too late, as Del Piero has done a bit more than play a good season in the provinces and 3 decent games in the World Cup. Not to piss on a National Icon or anything, but let's be serious, Rossi played 3 decent matches in his life outside of the Vicenza shirt.

How are you any different? All you want to do is make accusations about how moggi has made DP's career. Look back at the last few pages and count how many times you mentioned Moggi. Last time I checked, Moggi wasn't involved in the World Cup, Sucknuts.

Its a different case Greg, Ghana is lurking out there and a Ghana win would automatically mean the elimination of Italy or the Czechs. Its not Denmark-Sweden in Euro 2004 this time. Striking a deal here is dependant on the USA-Ghana tie which would complicate it or even make it impossible.

Nothing..until I see evidence more than just Galliani saying "UH HUH" five times then I might believe it....thus far there has been absolutely ZILCH in terms of evidence.

PADO: Actually Moggi had Lippi on speed dial and pushed certain players to be selected so their STOCK can go up and his son's assets (players) can go up. God knows what he did for Del Piero all those years.

More over, if you look back since EURO 2004 I always hoped for DP to do well but knew it was all in vain.
