I concur with Jeeks and Paul. Milan is given a higher regard at least here in the U.S. Odd to think of Juve as the underdog, I know, but that is in part a small reason why it's different to be a juventino out here...

WHOA!!!! Strongly disagree...growing up and for the most part any Italian area (Italian quarter..Little Italy..etc) I have been in the US and even Canada (I once made it a point to visit as many 'Italian areas' known as Little Italy in the US and Canada) Juventus is the go to team for most who have a vague notion of the sport ... this due in part to the immigrants from WWII and before from the south were Juve was the team of choice...coupled with their success in the early 80's when Soccer in the US picked up what you had was many who knew sweet fvck all about the game but had a Juve jersey...NOW I see a swing as the ignorant fvcks like to buy Milan jerseys as well..but for me growing up it was just another reason to hate Juve fans...

nowadays those guys take away from the passion of the likes of Vinman, Sergio and Pado (yes you Kevin) who are on a different level than the atypical American self labeled Juve fan (didn't include you Greg because I was using Italians in my theory)

Outside of the country's Little Italys, I'd have to agree with Swag and my earlier posts that the three big teams on American lips are Man U, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.

I never go near any little italys, but here, for anyone remotely involved with football, it's Man U or Real.

Some kid at party told me he liked Milan and that Totti was his favorite player. I called him a cafone and laughed in his face.

Unlike teams such as Bayern, Inter and Juve we can leave the Champions League with our heads up high....one goal in 180 minutes with 40 year old Billy Costacurta playing against the likes of Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Deco and Giuly....Milan refusing to sit back and leaving fan to wonder "do they really care?" Such as Juventini and Interisti went through a few weeks/months ago...our team/players cared, our team played and our team tried....Barcelona did not show themselves to be on another level..
    better ball control..sure.
    better passing sure....
but in the end they refused to take risks in either match and respected the opposition...they counting their blessings they got that one goal and were not willing to risk it all for another.
I still stand by my opinion that Barcelona is easily superior to Milan and deserve the trophy more than any other side in Europe. Watching the match on Wednesday I got the impression Barcelona was slightly the better side on the night and created a couple more threatening opportunities. The midfield battle was won by the Catalans and Pirlo failed to establish a rhythm which in the end led to Milan bowing out of this competition. The Eto'o and Larsson chances could have wrapped things up nicely, and as for the Shevchenko goal I'm not quite sure what happened but in the end I would have to say Barcelona was easily the superior side over the two legs.

There is a difference between respecting your opponents and playing intelligently...I believe you're trying to push this notion of Barcelona perhaps being afraid of Milan to some extent, which is indeed reasonable, however not as much as you would like to believe. No manager in their right mind would instruct their side to take unreasonable chances in a second leg match such as that one, and Rijkaard obviously had his priorities straight in ensuring his side progress to the final. No intelligent side is going to throw a bunch of players forward while having the aggregate lead because that would be simply suicide against a team with the likes of Kaka and Sheva who can strike hard on the counter. Barcelona, as opposed to other years, played with their minds instead of entirely with their flair, and essentially that is why they will be in Paris come the 17th...not to mention they are simply the better side.

disagree greatly with the word superior....Barca had the first game in which they had two chances....capitalized when it was in front of them...Milan didn't...

Like I said for Milan to win many things had to ALIGN in their universe and it didn't .. Pirlo never found his game since December... defense was never consistent since the beginning of the year and Gila never gained CL confidence...for this to work all these things had to align...
Many stated Milan would never be the same after Istanbul...they proved everyone wrong....3 semis in 4 years .. still top ranked by UEFA ... A few summer adjustments and Barca will need more than a few stepovers to do this again

unfortunately, the closest one to me is in Toronto (College street), but it is relatively small compared to the amount of Italians that live there. There used to be a larger section up there (St. Clair), but it has long since disappeared. The Italian section of Buffalo (Hertel Avenue) seems larger than whats in Toronto, plus we have the nations second largest Italian Festival, next to NYC. What do you expect when all the Italians in TO moved to Woodbridge ??!!

If Italy goes to the WC final, its a good bet that I'll be on College street somewhere watching the game.

I once saw the Growing up Gotti boys wearing a Del Piero jersey..that did it for me...
why didn't someone shoot those piglets and put them out of their misery

glad I didnt see that
