"Forza Juve."

Random guy in the DR with Juve jersey looking at the screaming Pado, "Uhhh, what?"

"FORZA JUVE. TAKE MY FUCKING TEAM'S JERSEY OFF IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M SAYING."

I love you Pado. I'd do the same while drunk on a golf course. :pint:

So last year I got accepted in a government sponsored scholarship program to USA. I intend to do my masters. The ministry of education tells us not to get acceptances from universities, rather they will do that for us and get us acceptances in "reputable" universities. I wasn't really convinced and already knew the outcome of their "reputable" claim, not that I can do anything about it.

Anyways, yesterday I get their letter, with accompanying documents from the college they got for me. And guess what? The University is called "Adelphi University" in NY! Ever heard of it? I didn't! A quick search in U.S News rankings tells me its a third tier university :wallbang:

I am thinking of canelling the whole thing now, just stay over here and advance my career....

Anybody got any info about Adelphi??

Actually, the Princeton Review, an entity more focused on schools than U.S. News and Reports, ranked Adelphi as one of the nation's best universities in the Northeast a couple years ago. I don't know anybody that goes there but apparently it's a pretty good university.

And besides, I think that "tier" ranking system is a little biased and more concerned with the number of students enrolled in the university than anything else. Of course bigger schools will get more attention, but that doesn't mean smaller schools are worse. I'd do some more research before dropping it just yet, Rami.

It's not about that, I know I could do better, hell I got accepted in Berkley for my undergraduate, but foolishly turned it down and opted to stay here :wallbang:

The intent seems plausible at least.

I've heard of Adelphi though and not one bad word has been said against it from what I heard. Check out their statistics on SAT scores and the like for undergrads... that usually gives a good idea how decent the place is.

I am applying for graduate studies Andy. How fair an assessment would SAT scores be?

They give a good idea of what sort of students they accept for undergrad spots, and that could perhaps give you some idea of what sort of students the university accepts as a whole and what sort of standards they hold. But of course it won't provide much info on how prestigious each of the masters are... I wonder if the Princeton Review has lists of top masters programs. They probably do..
