Whenever I go back to Chicago, turning on the radio there is like time travel back to 1981. (Altair surely knows WLUP, or The Loop.) I could go a whole year without hearing Billy Squier. But all it takes is a trip to Chicago, and they're playing it like Don't Say No was just released that month ... just as the last time I heard Billy Squier, which was the last time I visited Chicago.
(And it's not like Styx or REO Speedwagon which you hear all the time there still, because at least they're from Chicago. Friggin' Billy Squier is from Massachusetts.)
I've created a Chicago radio playlist here, and it cracks me up everytime I stumble across it. Because my wife will hear the exact same crap the next time we visit Chicago. It was good the first time, but you have to give it a rest after 25 years.
