Now you're talking!

I'm saving up my eye patch smilies for tomorrow, however. :agree:
Avast me matey, shiver me timbers.

Erik - "I'm glad to see you're still alive, you're looking like a saint."

Nasty accident indeed. Give it a couple more days and you'll start wanting to drive again. It just takes a little time.

Yeah I think I'll give it another shot tomorrow. Shouldn't wait too long with the whole get-back-on-the-horse situation....

Btw, Erik. Very sorry to hear of your frightful accident. That is some scary stuff. Glad to hear you're OK. But I would be shocked if, for the next few weeks, you did not feel sore and tensed up like some Greco-Roman wrestler twisted you into a pretzel.

Getting back on the horse takes time. I remember just how challenging it was for me after I was hit by a car three times within three months while riding my bike in Berkeley.

Yes, there was a fourth time after that (and I have not owned a bicycle ever since, to be honest). And yes, I got pretty good at learning how to react and fall like a trained stunt man (the hood is nice and soft, btw). But I was paranoid for a while, presuming most of the cars around me were cluelessly about to hit me after that kind of luck. Of course, a fourth one had to validate my paranoia.

The moral of the story? Don't give up driving until you've at least had three more such harrowing accidents in the next few months. Otherwise, you should be OK.

Sorry to hear about your accident Erik. insurance companies are a pain in the proverbial. They are very good at taking your money, but don't like paying it out. I wish you good luck, pal. I hope you get compensated in full from them.

That's right, and it won't have competition from the crumbling evil American Empire. Prepare for the end, Vinny, the first weaknesses of the US have been exposed and military overstretch traditionally announces the fall of superior global realms.
