So are you saying there is nothing wrong with monkey chants and racial taunts? Can't say that makes a lot of sense, however of course I know such conduct is common in stadiums across Europe and other parts of the world. That doesn't make crap like that right though and it should not be tolerated.
First of all please do refrain from misquoting me, nowherehave i mentioned the racial taunts being on the same level as wearing a Bin Laden mask. My last nota bene was simply to show that things of greater ampleur happen in european stadiums. Now put your feelings aside and think this through rationally: How is it racist to wear a Bin Laden mask??? If anything that's freedom of speech as it has no bearings on the audience's race. It's like saying we should arrest someone with a T-shirt that says anything against Jesus: Get a grip.

It completely does not make sense, whether Europe does it nor not. It would be objectionable if USA fans came dressed as INS agents to the game. It's a whole other level of insensitivity to invoke the image of someone who is seen as largely responsible for the deaths of 3,000 innocents.

And speaking of what Zlatan's referring to, how would a team from a Muslim nation feel if the opposing team were wearing Slobodan Milosevic masks? That's beyond funny and even tasteless. Not that I wouldn't be surprised even worse happens. Still doesn't make it acceptable.

I mean, how would a team from a Muslim nation feel if the opposing team were wearing Slobodan Milosevic masks? That's beyond funny and even tasteless...

couldn't agree more but is it society's moral obligation(law) to stop such actions of insensitivity? and here i'm still referrign to the mask incident.

I don't think you can legislate morality. People are legally allowed to be insensitive jerks and to be bigoted morons.

But just as with racists, etc., there is a role in public condemnation and disapproval to send the shaming message.

I think you need to follow your own advice as well and read the posts thoroughly...nowhere did I say wearing a Bin Laden mask is racism. That does not even make any sense, Altair.

Exactly, so sitting here saying "all is well" and just accepting the fact that disgusting acts are all too common in this wold is quite the complacent way to approach such disgraces.

I guess it's just hard sell for me here, i'll just end by saying that i'd rather have someone wear like that than throw projectiles at me in a stadium

Hmm. Not sure why you're resorting to such a sardonic tone...

I would not be surprised at all if some people were burning our flag because some do it all the time...I would rather have them resort to that instead of prance around in faggotty Bin Laden masks in front of our players and fans. Some people wouldn't know class if they took a friggin four credit seminar on it.
"Hmm, shall I sidestep another post?"
