Greg: You are right I hurled my fair share of insults BUT I was refering to your post in the Seven against the world thread. You commented that in the 'Centrocampista' debacle AndY and I were NOT innocent parties.
    I have to disagree.
Centrocampista was not provoked nor had anything to do with the Christ discussion. He decided to post those comments out of the blue.
Hence, I don't see how Andy and I could be guilty of anything regarding that issue.
Did we provoke him? Did we invite him?

Actually I agree with you as I wondered about the Centrocampista situation. He appeared out of the blues and started attacking members who post in this thread as if he knows them from long ago or he knows them from long ago.

To my defense, the average American would not be a fan of European soccer club and not take time out of his day to discuss topics with people of different nationalities, beliefs, and backrounds. An average American would not care about trying to learn Italian and would probably not give a toss what the governmental situation is in, say, Uzbekistan. By calling me an average American or anybody else an average American stems from ignorance IMO.

Allow me to rephrase that sentence?

By calling me an average American or anybody else an average American stems from one being an average [insert nationality here] IMO.

OK, finally watched DS last night. The award that Capello and Giraudo received last night? It was pretty much about Juventus being good world abmassadors for truffles. Seriously. I believe it's white truffle (tartufo) season in Piemonte right now, and they seemed to be at a dinner in honor of a truffle event at some ritzy gastronomical society of Piemonte.

So what are tartufi? Crazy, mushroom-like stuff with an intense smell that grow deep in the ground ... to where they often train dogs or even pigs to root them out. Why? Because they go for as much as 5000€ per kg. And there's Capello with a big smile as they shave 50€ layer after layer on what he's eating..

Yes Tartufo is GOLD in the world of Italian Cuisine (Northern Anyways). I have been to restaurants where they ask you if you would like some 'tartufo' with your pasta ... tourists figure its similiar to getting grated parmiggiano on your pasta...until they see the bill .. like Greg said: a few shavings can cost up to 20 euros depending on the season
That's it? World Ambassadors for truffles?? You have got to be kidding me...WHO are the ad idiots that came up with this one?

And Greg, what are you talking about? After Centrocampista posted those malicious opinions about Jesus and Christianity I did nothing but make comments about them. Not sure how I got my hands dirty in that discussion..

Andy, Nick -- less about the specific incident in question. The reason I killed the Centro account was because the suspicion of it being a dupe got ridiculously high. I didn't have 100% evidence, but his postings aggravating others sealed the deal for me. His last post was just one more in a pattern.

And to the extent that the dupe was with Seven, it's not like you don't dish back what you sometimes take here either.

Personally, I'd rather just drop it and move on. This whole topic makes me feel like the guy who hosts a party at his house, trying to keep some of his guests from killing each other in the basement.

Pado against the Shoe was refreshing. Did it really need to be closed...?

What kind of a focking douche bag would take the time to close that thread? Unless a fight broke out there since my last post, it was probably the only thread where people weren't trying to kill each other.

OK, I see, Mikhail did it. That is a bit of a surprise, but just a bit.

Yep. Truffles and football. Go figure.

They might have been able to do something clever on the bianconeri thing, since truffles come both as white (Italian/Piemontese) and black (French). But it looked to me like just an excuse to get some food publicity and to make Gigi lust after Alena's puppies from over a satellite hookup.

sorry I'm not into these sadistic things

There are black truffles in Italy, too. Had the most awesome Risotto con Tartufi Neri in Assisi.
