Recorded it last night, but took my wife out for a party for her birthday. I hope to check it out tonight... hmmm...
OK, finally watched DS last night. The award that Capello and Giraudo received last night? It was pretty much about Juventus being good world abmassadors for truffles. Seriously. I believe it's white truffle (tartufo) season in Piemonte right now, and they seemed to be at a dinner in honor of a truffle event at some ritzy gastronomical society of Piemonte.

So what are tartufi? Crazy, mushroom-like stuff with an intense smell that grow deep in the ground ... to where they often train dogs or even pigs to root them out. Why? Because they go for as much as 5000€ per kg. And there's Capello with a big smile as they shave 50€ layer after layer on what he's eating... [/QUOTE]

Yes Tartufo is GOLD in the world of Italian Cuisine (Northern Anyways). I have been to restaurants where they ask you if you would like some 'tartufo' with your pasta ... tourists figure its similiar to getting grated parmiggiano on your pasta...until they see the bill .. like Greg said: a few shavings can cost up to 20 euros depending on the season
