I think I missed something here: Andy's showdown for Gotham vs Chi-Town? What's the story?

(FWIW, I was born and raised in Chicago.)
I'm not thinking about moving to either city yet as I still have three+ years in college to complete, however after that I might be interested in one or the other. Both cities are very intruiging Greg.

Oh, and Fabi will move in with me once I make my decision. ;)

Ahhh... the menage a troi of course. ;)

So this is about looking where to move perhaps after college. Cool. My first move after college (which was to Maryland, believe it or not) started out as a really lonely time in my life at first ... I moved out for a job with no family or friends within 1,000 miles. And when you make that transition from school to work, unlike college, suddenly you're confronted with a lot of people of slightly different ages who are married and have families to go home to, etc. But it soon after became one of the best times of my life once I made some great friends and connected with people.

My advice? Chicago or New York are both great options. Live in a place where you will socialize with people around the same point in life as you. If you're in a smaller city, people get married and settle down as soon as they can legally drink (and sometimes because of it ;) ). And commuting far away from where most recent graduates like to hang out and socialize can be limiting.

swag what the name of that italian restaurant located in Fisherman's Wharf ,, i really can't remember the name its close to high street pier !
I'm guessing you're thinking of Hyde Street Pier. There's an Alioto's fish place and A Sabella's near there... not sure if that's what you mean. But as Nick would say, that is truly sh*t to save for the tourists.

Tre Fratelli nearby isn't half bad. But the best restaurants near Hyde St. Pier are Ana Mandara, an Asian fusion place owned by noneother than Don Johnson (no joke, you wouldn't know it going in), and Gary Danko ... where a meal costs about a semester worth of tuition. But damn, it's gooooood....

yes, and don't forget Juventus together with the best defender of all times Gaetano Scirea litteraly gave a WC to Italy. I doubt that the Azurri would win if they would play in different teams.
Scirea the best defender of all time?? Jog on son....no Italian defender touches Maldini. Not Franco not Gaetano...nobody.

Italy is Italy ..there is no CLUB affiliation when it comes to National teams..so yes, forza Scirea, forza Rossi, Forza whomever....Forza Italia

Hey shithead, I wish you would stop being the Channel 4 parrot by continuing to say "the most successful period". Ever hear of the Juventus of Gaetano Scirea and Antonio Cabrini? Those fockers won 6 scudetti in the bianconeri and were kings of Europe. That, my friend, was our most successful period.
How many CL titles did those "Kings" win?? I will never doubt their greatness but please...Juve won the CL, Scudetto and Intercontinentale in the EPO Glory days.....

P.S. Ever hear of Franco Baresi and Paolo Maldini..those significant other defenders won 12 Scudetto's and 7 CL Titles..say that Five times 'cup cake'

Gaetano Scirea, the gobbo whom I happen to grant the highest respect, remains the second greatest libero produced by the Belpaese (ergo the World?), behind none other than the man pictured to the left of this line.
    Libero ... yes....defender ..... no :lazy:

    :)

I was thinking of driving him down to the Hot & Hunky Hamburgers joint down in the Castro, never to be seen again.... ;)
Speaking of which my friends thought it would be 'different' to have coffee in the Castro on a Saturday night....never saw so many toned guys ignoring the stares of women

Thought of Pado while in the Castro :cheesy:

Oh, Nick... with this photo in this thread, you're getting to be like the 88-year-old nanna who keeps bringing out the yellowed baby picture of her now-retirement-aged son. ;)
Consider it an eternal nagging right....like the 6-1 whipping Juve gave Milan..Milan's 6-0 on Inter and Milan's Serie B days...
    in some instances..time stays still...

Believe it or not I went to Alioto's on my recent trip...I wouldn't be caught dead there but the family is an old long time friend of my Father and my Father insisted I go see him...
I got a not-so-typical treatment....dishes not on the menu and the bill was surprisingly 'lower' than average....
however, glancing around I saw what is really served....not worth the money...thats for sure.
Crustecean's on POLK I believe it is was good back in 98 .... didn't try it this time around.

    Nice try, Nick. ;)

No, actually, knowing the family at a restaurant is a great 'in'. There are a lot of places I would eat, that I wouldn't normally, if I was connected somehow.

Still there, still pretty good, btw.

Well as I stated before, I would probably fit in better in Chicago because of my deep Midwest roots, and of course all this talk does not matter until that big job is offered to me....I could be thinking about Miami if the National Hurricane Center tries to recruit me. ;)

A big hearty Lou Alioto greeted me and gave me a nice table overlooking Hyde Street Pier...
    no connections here! :D

Has Maldini ever lifted the World Cup? Did he ever set up the winning goal for Italy to end the 44-year World Cup drought that haunted them since WWII? Was Maldini able to keep a perfect disciplinary record throughout his entire career?
