I love Dybala and hope he improves next season, but trying to put all the blame on the coach is exactly the reason why I don't value the opinions of your so called "football world" that highly. Here your opinions are going to get critiqued if you can't handle it I think you're in the wrong place.

Agree. There are multiple reasons why that happened. Where I also agree with you is that now with a new coach Dybala has a better chance of regaining his form as it was obvious Max didn't like playing Dybala and Ronaldo together as neither of them offers much in terms of defending or pressing.

I think Allegri disregarded the team for the sake of Ronaldo and it didn't work well. We looked very poor apart from a handful of matches but that was down to everyone having a perfect game. Dybala was our best performer last year so he should have tried harder to integrate him better and get the best from him. It's true that players like Cancelo, Costa and Sandro did let us down badly and frequently too but a part of me thinks that if Ronaldo didn't show up Allegri would've been much wiser with players and tactics.

That's what annoyed me though. When you have a world class offence you don't NEED so much from them defensively. The few teams better than us have won in Europe without needing the front 2 or 3 to pull a Mandzukic. It just isn't necessary. Why could we not see some tweaking with formations and the attackers when we were walking the league but looking increasingly clueless in attack? We shouldn't have to wait for next season to try something new. For all his rotation, Max refused to try anything drastically different.

I'm not sure I agree with that. If you look at the CL final teams this season every single player in those teams works hard off the ball. Not Mandzo hard, but guys like Firmino and Mane work more than enough defensively. Real and Barca previously have won with attacking players that don't work much defensively though.
