Euro-4 and lower yes (altho you can argue that EU directives are a loose contruct and in many if not most EU countries they are never gonna get turned into actual law)


Yet, Euro-5 and 6 are compliant with that EU directive and are going to be abolished regardless by Sep 19

They don't drive diesel for the sake of it - an average gasoline car consumes 7.9l/100km, avg diesel car 6.8l/km. Now, if gasoline costs 1.5€ per liter and diesel 1,3€ that means if you drive 10k km a year you will save 30k € just by driving diesel.
