Nah cred to the police officers for being good natured friendly sports, despite some of the obnoxiously stupid (and hopefully mainly playful) behavior. Patrolling a carnival festival they must be used to all kind of goofiness tho.
Just got back from Birmingham, and it wasn't a festival, but was at outdoors park party, and the English Police were really very polite and joking around with everyone while keeping the perimeter safe.

Personally I couldn't give a shit about some dudes grinding on a female cop. It's been done the other way around for years and years at Notting Hil and other Caribbean festivals, it's part of the culture. If someone doesn't like something they only have to say no, let the rest take care of itself. Are the police fearful at these kind of events? I'd say you have a degree of that. Notting Hill is a known violent event, trying to mirror "white" Glastonbury cus "racist bruv" when it is just the police doing their job, shows the position they are in. Different setting, different drug culture, different levels of risk to festival goers. End of the day it's probably just Stormzy scoring brownie points with his audience, but removing heroin off the streets is a negative? Let's be serious.
Once you create fearfulness you can end up with events like within the Pakistani muslim communities in Rotherham, Rochdale, Newcastle and others, with a minority of those communities having a fetish for underage white girls. Well that's what happens when a religious freak gets appointed as the minister of environment. The guy is publicly quoting the Bible "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it.
