It's absurd that Republicans go to such distance of suggesting banning Muslim immigration, but vehemently oppose anything that they think infringe people's 2nd amendment rights.
One of my friends had this on fb today: How about we go ahead and ban assault weapons "until we figure out what the hell is going on."

This is even more disturbing that the shooting itself:

100% this.

Fucking NRA with this idea that people should be able to buy full-scale assault weapons. Let alone people on a no-fly list already. Yes, civilians need the ability to own AR-15s. :sergio:

And the arguments that people would just use other weapons to murder, or other methods... Yeah, that explains why America has a far higher murder rate than any first world country with strict gun control laws.

Sad this:

Yep, I mean of course people are always going to find ways to kill other people.

But if you sell a lot of things that make it a lot easier to kill a lot of people, a lot more people will be killed than otherwise.

You can internalize homophobia because your religion tells you that you are an abomination that deserves to be killed.
Suicide as self-defense, yo.

Well that and he didn't hate America, just homos.
I thought all of Merica was homos? ;)

I'm at the point of thinking it would be better if we allowed citizens to own nuclear weapons. It's the logical conclusion.

Honestly, why would you want to buy an AR-15? Why do you need one of those? To Hunt? Give me a break. I can't believe you can get one of those in Florida without a licence quicker than you can get a handgun. Honestly, USA is f*cked up when it comes to that. That guy was probably not allowed to fly but could go out and buy that killing machine.
I'd buy one if I could. Who am I kidding I'd buy five (fifteen)

Why go for ar when you can get an M4
I am so jealous of you Americans. You can drive out into the woods, with some buddies, build a gong target and give it a rain of freedom filled shells. In communist Europe an unblemished law-abiding citizen isn't even allowed to own a bolt action rifle. :depressed Sir, we've been informed that you bought a cucumber of prohibited curvature, put your hands where we can see them.

They say things happen in 3's. Poor Orlando

First, it was that Voice singer who was killed after her concert.

Then, obviously this incredibly sad event

And now, well, I guess this one can be chalked up to "Only in Florida"

Literally no reason for someone to have an AR if they aren't in a war zone.
I am a republican, I support the 2nd amendment.

I do not have a gun, but I will be getting one as protection for my family.

I don't know what I will be getting yet, but I CAN tell you that it will NOT be an AK-47, an AR-15, an RPG, a scud missile, a nuclear warhead or anything similar

The collection and hording of assault weapons and other high caliber weapons for the sake of having them, and quite frankly, the sale of these military grade weapons is possibly the grossest misinterpretation of any of the constitutional amendments.

If Republicans who consider themselves as the type who do not see the Constitution as a living, fluid document, but something that is to be interpreted literally, then they should know that the intent of the 2nd amendment was not to create your own arsenal, but to have a weapon for a defensive measure as a means of protection

Agree. Honestly I don't know why it's not a thing yet, and why gun stores don't carry tanks and Katyushas and surface to air missiles. People have the right to defend themselves.

What he did was not suicide it was Martydom. Here is a guy who is internally conflicted between his sexual desires and what his religion tells him about having such desires. He feels sinful, guilty and disgusted of himself. Not only would his friends and family and whole community alienate him and see him as a disgusting abomination, he too sees himself as a disgusting abomination. His way of dealing with it is to do something "good" which is to die fighting for Allah. The doctrine of Jihad allows him to kill "American infidels" and die fighting them. His special conflict with homosexuality made him offload that jihad on homosexuals.

He went in knowing he wasn't coming out. There's a little suicide in that. And by killing gays he was really only shooting at his own image.
