Its really astounding those fucked up Journalists went that far, for rating and being showy, truly disgusting piece. I mean FFS, the first guy just said he was sorry for sending pictures, not for the rape, and they spend the full time making them sound like martyrs that are being tragically wasted, only mumbling that they are rapists like its an insignificant detail. I couldnt even imagine this being done by a parody/comedy show, and it was done by a real news network, FFS. And its not even fox news to boot, jeez, biggiest miss-use of the sympathy card I ever seen.
Whats even worse, there are prolly tons of people who after seeing that sees these two rapists as the sympathetic victims.

What the FUCK!? This a whole new level of crazy. This ain't no joke? And you ask why some think not so well about america. This is a whole fucking crazy spin on the story. Poor poor football players, fucking victims, their life is ruined... Unreal, that this stuff is even possible without a big backlash from the public.

On the other hand, as much as that woman clumsily sided with the criminals, I think society thrives on the easy moral crutch of believing that there are good, honest people like themselves and then there are bad people who do evil things and the two never cross over. We like the easy model of Darth Vader vs. Luke Skywalker in judging the world.
That sort of moral laziness paints people in such broad strokes that we have overwhelming support for things like three strikes laws with the mistaken belief that it only applies to "them", not "us".
I do wish the media would point out more that otherwise good people can do very evil, criminal things. It keeps us on our toes and avoids the, "He seemed like such a nice man... kept to himself" problem we hear all the time. Not to make us all paranoid, but people are too quick to presume the worst about someone who commits a crime and yet never see themselves or the people they trust as having elements of criminal behavior.
