What's funny is that all of you guys have the bias presuming that the inmates are uneducated blue collar criminals when in fact, based on the vagueness of the article, they could be trial lawyers convicted of white collar crimes.

Probably, but I guess that the Harvard team underestimated them hard, and I guess preparing arguments, depending on how specific the task was, can be quite important.
