@The Quazis It's bout demand at the end. Let's give you an example of my country Sweden, every network fought tooth and nails to get EPL rights when renegotiation made up for grabs. While Serie had been in a limbo for 2 years, previous network who had at times showed horse racing or handball over some games lol, finally decided to ditch the league. This past summer who will have the right to the league wasn't decided until after the season had gone on couple of weeks.

And this is Sweden, tho Anglophile Nordic country, still has substantial history with Italy football wise (alot more of its legends been in Italian football over England one).

Italy needs to up its brand and allure big time again. Not saying as it used to be, but do their friggin homework and not just rely on old powerhouse traditions. Lots of storied clubs but no current substantial appeal anymore.

Don't know what the numbers are but Juve has paid for total re-branding not only the logo, a new visual identity as they put it.
I really don't know but the source is not relaible just a page in instagram reported about the designer with the plenty of information.

It's true what you wrote but the success in not the only reason to start following a club. I started following Juve as a kid because I thought Juventus is the coolest name out there. Same with New York Yankees or this LA club. I'm not sure they're winning the NBL every season but people still buy their sh!t because the logo is fancy.

Agreed to some extent.

In Poland only one TV canal can broadcast a given league. It used to be Canal Plus showing all the best foreign leagues plus the Polish Ekstraklasa. Now we have Canal Plus showing only BPL and Ekstraklasa while Ligue 1, Serie A and LaLiga is on Eleven Sports tv channel. I'm not sure if Canal + resigned from the three above mentioned leagues or they were outbid by Eleven. The point is, Serie A is still a product in high demand. Not as high as BPL but it's still expansive. So if some station has BPL, the other tv stations will pay a lot for the remaining leagues to be able to show anything. Since Ligue 1, Serie A and LaLiga are still top leagues, the TV channels will be willing to pay the inflated price.

People don't even have to follow the club to buy gear. If you're looking for a gift for your nephew and you see a cool looking black football with the Jj logo, or a lame red ball with just Nike on it, god chance you'd go for the better looking ball.

Agreed our history has been wiped out by badge change #1093204

Surprised Del Piero hasn't vanished into thin air after this. The horror, how dare we look to the future and try and increase our exposure and revenues to compete with European elite instead of sit comfortable in Serie A and compete with the mighty Fiorentina and Napoli.

What the hell? The emblem is part of the club. This is simply unbelievable, it takes a lot of meaning out of the whole fan thing.
Will it make you feel any different when you sit down to watch a game and you see Buffon, Marchisio, Higuain, etc doing the same thing they were doing with the old crest?

Why does our simplicity suck? How would alright looking simplistic Juve logo look like?

Most common argument against it that I've seen people use on different sites is that it doesn't fit into their view on how a football teams logo should look like. In other words it doesn't remind anything that a football team has used before for this purpose.
Just a one concrete "J" woulda been better, but who I am to judge. This season I bought all 3 shirts, next one I might buy only one. Maybe I'll like it more in the future, who the hell knows.

And yes, this logo is something new, so it is clearly doesn't fit into people ideas on how football logo should look like. But we are a unique club, we might be written in the historic books for doing something amazing first.

Just please at least don't change the anthem! :/

It does make a lot of difference to me. Supporting a club is all about identity. The club becomes part of your identity. The emblem is a vital part of a club's identity, as is the kit, the anthem, the name and other stuff.

I absolutely understand the need to update it and make small changes.

But absolutely revamping it out of nowhere, to a completely different thing? Absolutely not.

A football club is not a simple product. It involves much more than that and it must be considered.

To me this shit seems unreal and very, very disappointing. A simply loved that logo.

If they changed the name of the club to Piemonte FC but you could still watch Marchisio & co doing their thing how would you feel?
