i dont like messi all that much either but you cant say he isnt good:faq1: hes been on fire this entire season and he is quite talented for being so young
what im saying is that he isnt as good as most make him out to be, so much is expected of him since he has this brand of new maradona but he isnt! no1 will ever be maradona again! messi is messi i find it an insult that any player as young as messi should already be compared to a proven legend of the game.

well you have to admit the kid is rediculously sick at soccer.

sicker than Henry was at that age, Sicker than zidane, Dhino most players.

He is already preforming at a level equal and even exceeding them

and the fact he has not scored a load of goals this season has more to dowith the fact he was injured for the most part of the season. I think he would have 10+ goals easily if he was fit the whole year.

he is exceptional more often than not and his consistancy will only improve with age. Even Maradona rates him as his second coming

Maradona rated many players in the past as his second coming:p
But yeah, I agree that Messi is superb

true

but those were some pretty good player in their own right (Riquelme, Aimar ..)

but Messi is a cut above at his age.

you don't have a 120 million euro buy-out on a player who is not destined to be a superstar

I dream of a Juve with Messi

but I would settle to dream of a Juve with Riquelme

see .. i am not greedy :pint:

well if messi is that sick, he really is in a bad state and should see a doctor

he may improve with age, but one serious injury can finish him or he may just lose form and never find it again and ends up playing for a mid table club. nothing is for definate, unless you can actually see in to his future. alot of players like maradona, pele, cruyff do chat alot of rubbish sometimes and personally to rate messi as the new maradoni is far too early, i remember robinho being branded the new pele, either pele was a crap player or robinho was just overhyped already because not to say robinho isnt talented but hasnt come close to what pele achieved

at the same time its a goal he doesnt score week in week out we will probably never see him score anything like that for a long time
man!

he is fantastic

he does not play for Inter, i don't see why you can't accept it. It is not like he is Zlatan (who is now shit by the way:rofl: )

but you are entitled to your own opinion. most ppl think messi is a phenom but time will tell if he will be a legend :pint:

i hate the labels "the new" they are stupid and are made up to intimidate players. No one can ever be compared to the greats like pele maradonna cruyff eusebio etc.

messi is a quality player no doubt about it, but im with badass here we cant judge a kid who has only been on the scene for 2 years, the players i mentioned were at the top of their game for many years, ronaldo was hailed as the new pele but his consistency only lasted about 4/5 years and now he seems washed up, messi is still young and has a lot of football ahead of him, we really cant put him in the mould of those players.

he is however a fantastic prospect and one of the best players in the world but the praise some of you are dishing out is slightly exaggerated

if you think hes fantastic then fair enuff as you said you are titled to your own opinion but im one that likes to wait and see not one that likes to make early judgements nor comparisons with living legends, and from what i have seen of messi which is quite alot i feel the media especially have hyped him up alot more than he actually is

Because Maradona, Del Piero, Zidane and Platini always scored wonder goals right? Dude the kid is fucking 19. 19!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and he scores a goal like that. you are acting as if he is 28 or such. Oh and Messi is a regular player at Barca. a 19 year old established player at one of the best clubs in the world os overrated now?

and you people who complian about Ronaldo rememeber that his injuries have affected him right? and who cares if he was good for 4-5 years? (he still has alot to offer imo) in that time he became the best player in the world and helped bring glory to his country and club.

4-5 years out of about 20 yrs of playing football is what i call rather disasterous for someone who was meant to be the next pele and whos to say messi will turn out like him, so be prepared for a dissapointment

you are right. messi is not yet anything. but how he is playing right now is fantastic

i don't agree with the ronaldo thing. he is still good and has been around since he was like 18 or 19 .. so saying 4-5 years is not right

and Ronaldo is a legend in his own right. he has done sooo much in his career and has the trophies and awards to prove it.
