Whichever parameter you look at - squad value on transfermarkt, wage bill or past performance, Gattuso's Napoli is levels below Pirlo's Juve, however their performance this season has been very similar. I'd say Gattuso has done a better job than Pirlo.
Slightly better, yes. (Even though they still might miss out on CL, as unlikely as that seems right now.)
I don't think anyone here is going to dispute the fact that Pirlo has done a poor job anyway. I am just very surprised that a number of people would prefer Gattuso over someone like Gasperini. And that made me wonder why that is, since it obviously has nothing to do with (past) results. (I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, everyone has their preferences, based on whatever they want/think.)

But would you, or others, agree that this season has been the best ever for Gattuso as a manager?
I think it is, by far. But I'm not impressed. Not at all. Average is what I'd call it.

Gasperini is the same bet we made with Sarri, a coach with a clear identity that's very different to ours coming in to change everything. Would be great if it works out, but it's more likely that history will repeat itself.

Gattuso and Inzaghi both don't have the overachieving CV that Gasp has, but they do have time on their side and do seem to be more flexible. I really don't want neither though :D
Lol Inzaghi's three trophies is better and more overachieving than Gasp has ever done.

Yeah considering our financial condition he would be the first to be ruled out
Considering finances, yes, there's no way we'd even chase let alone get Zidane.

But no, it's not even about finances at this point. We simply won't hire any foreign coach. So best buy would be Allegri but I doubt he'll come here. I think it's a good poll here, bar Zidane, because those will be our shortlist.

Before Allegri and conte were appointed by juve the same discussion must have gone on

Actually its not the same but I do agree Gasp is a bet - The thing is every coach is a bet.
We had Conte who was a bet and before him we had Del Neri and Ferrara who were bets. Id even say Allegri was a bet.
Also Sarri is way more predictable than Gasperini and you can see the amount of goals his team is having while his defense doesnt suck. Add to this the fact he has no real budget.

Style wise I think he can do a good job but I think its Zidane if we get 4th spot and Gatusso if 5th

Simone Inzaghi vs Gasperini (Both 5 years at current club)

- 241 games (1.78 ppg) v 237 games (1.85ppg)
- Both using 3 CB formation 3-5-2 vs 3-4--1-2
- Inzaghi easier to approach as his contract will expired this season, Gasperini expire next season
- Atalanta have more stable positon 4-7-3-3-2 , Lazio 5-5-8-4-6. As we can see Atalanta grab the UCL spot while Lazio contender for UCL spot

And Lazio have more money to spend...

Mmh kinda reminds me of a team :p
exactly. and inda spent almost a decade by trying to pick a coach they thought finally fit them, while they had much deeper lying issues than a coach. they spent money on duds like there was no tomorrow, and it unfortunately rings a bell... that's why we should start at creating a stable management and a good recruitment strategy first, and not believe for a second that a coach, and i mean any coach, including my dearest max would miraculously solve all of our issues.

"our squad is good enough to win the league" my ass. our best midfielder is rabiot, and he shows up twice per months. bentancur regressed below the worst poulsen levels, mckennie isn't very good on the ball and i'm being very polite, our 70m signing can't regularly play 90 minutes and despite being labelled "unpressable" by some tuz xperds, he gives away the ball too many times, our only world class defender is de ligt (we used to have at least 3 of them), cuadrado is a natural winger and he's our best fullback (and best player) by a mile, dybala thinks he's bigger than the club, at least 10 players earn way to much compared to their actual contribution, we don't have a ball winner in the middle of the pitch and we never had the intention to sign one lately (besides emre can), we had two good homegrown players and now have zero, alex sandro played multiple seasons without an actual fitting sub to help him out, etc. you know the drill.

this squad is an unbalanced mess. with all due respect to both gattuso and those who promote his appointment, a motivator won't be enough. far from it, actually.

i'd replace/sack paratici before pirlo and the obviously useless players like berna or ramsey. we simply need a better strategy and much better success rate on the transfer market. and then we can have a coach. i bet our next coach wouldn't last for more than 2 seasons if the core of the team remains the same.

Let's look at the facts

26th of April
Galeone reiterates: "My feeling is that Allegri will return to Juventus"

6th of April
Giovanni Galeone (Allegri's close friend): "I heard from him a couple of days ago and he's certain to be back with a club in June, so he'll have something in his hand. I heard him being very determined. A year ago I would have ruled out his return to Juve, but not now."

5th of April
Tuttosport claims the former coach Allegri was in contact with President Agnelli in Forte dei Marmi on Saturday, for a short chat and Easter greetings.

Then we have the picture of Cherubini and Allegri posted recently
