Based on?
Is it merely Gattuso, supposedly, being a great motivator?

Because his track record so far is pretty clear: he failed everywhere he went.
Gattuso will command will immediate respect, he is a legend of the game. these are players who think they already made it, i don't see them responding to a gasperini, think the papu episode.

The problem is not whether one is able to command immediate respect. The problem is whether one is able to maintain the respect. And that doesn't come from what you did in the past, but hinges on what one does on a daily basis with the players, how one operates and how on top of things they see the coach as being. The idea that people are going to latch on to what their boss did 15 years ago as a player, and ignore what he does with them on a daily basis is ludicrous. Respect is guaranteed to no one, but has to be earned / demanded day in and day out.

Gattuso failed in all of his clubs. He literally showed nothing to give us hope to chase him.

Looking at history of success it made more sense to chase Sarri and we've seen how far he took us.

They were a better team with Sarri without a doubt.
By far. Sarri's was the best Napoli in decades. Gattuso is obviously a worse coach than Sarri but he hasn't failed with them. Ancelotti had them at 9th place when he was sacked and with Gattuso they normalized their situation.

Napoli has tried to get him to renew and stay but after the midseason ADL meddling he seems set on leaving.

I imagine he will go to Fiorentina. Not the coach I want for Juve.

I could never judge like that, though, at least not only on those parameters. Ancelotti is way ahead of Gattuso when it comes to coaching eventhough looking at the paper it doesnt say so.

I'm going to have to agree with that.
So far, Gattuso really hasn't done any better than Pirlo ffs. And he's been doing it a lot longer.

But I'm not going to agree with that.
Hiring Sarri never made any sense. And it never will.

Ancelotti is a legendary coach. His career isn't matched by many with 3 CL wins. Coaches like players have a "prime" of their careers though. Carlo isn't at his best anymore and its why he is coaching at Everton. His Napoli was imploding by the time he was sacked.

that's one single player, and they've been working together for 4,5 seasons prior to that episode. gasperini has been extremely demanding at atalanta, and his team always was disciplined. my issue with gasperini is mainly the bad matching with our squad: we don't have enough fast, well-pressing players to support his style.

btw conte had similar issues with ziegler or quagliarella, allegri had issues with bonucci and dybala, zidane had issues with bale, ancelotti had issues with a complete club. all of them are generally respected persons. i get your point, but there's no vaccine for disrespect. :boh:

Even at inter he had this problem

https://www.pkfoot.com/championnats/italie/inter-gasperini-ranieri-moratti-novara-bologne

"A Novara, Cambiasso est pris par les caméras à l’échauffement en train de dire à Ranocchia qu’ils joueront à quatre derrière, et non pas à trois comme le souhaite Gasperini. "

Can you imagine this happening to gattuso?

Whichever parameter you look at - squad value on transfermarkt, wage bill or past performance, Gattuso's Napoli is levels below Pirlo's Juve, however their performance this season has been very similar. I'd say Gattuso has done a better job than Pirlo.
