Doesn't Zaccardo play as a right-back. We really don't need right-backs right now since we already have Zebina, Grygera who play in that position, maybe we would focus on getting a world-star right-back in the future. But for now we are lacking a really good left-back:
Grosso, Jankulovski, Zambrotta, Pasqual, Balzaretti, Lahm, Jeremy Mathieu

I thought he could play left-back... but I can't find anything that backs that up. You're correct that the right side is full, but if they decided to toss Zebina (which they apparently want to), he would be an ideal option, as he can definitely play CB as well, like Grygera.
I don't think Balzaretti is an option. If they thought he was, they would have kept him. As well, frankly, as much as we like him, I think he and Mathieu stand out from that group in a negative way... they aren't at the same level as Grosso, Jankulovski, Zambrotta, Pasqual, or Lahm.

I havent seem much of Zaccardo on the left side,but i agree with you on everything else.He can play both as a central defender,and as a pretty good Right Back.He gets a lot of crap for that own goal against the US,but judging him on that one match is stupid.Zaccardo is talented,probably even more than Barzagli and he could be an asset for us.
I like bringing new names to the table, even if they blow. Well he can cross better than Balzaretti and goes forward a lot. The thing is that Molinaro is starting to get better and better so we might not need a new LB. De Ceglie should be brought back though anyway. I hope Molinaro does make it and turns into a solid LB.

We don´t need a new left back, people. I like Molinaro and no matter what you think, he has been performing quite well and I´m sure some people see this. He can only improve in the future. Who was Zambrotta in his 1st and 2nd season for Juve? We need to be patient with him. I think he will grow into a very good LB. He is no Zambrotta yet and he may never be on his level (Zambrotta was a natural talent, no many players can easily reach his level) but I already prefer him to Balzaretti who doesn´t defend very well in my opinion.

Juve Eyeing Up Barzagli
Juventus are lining up a bid for Palermo star Andrea Barzagli, according to Tuttosport.
It has been well documented that the Bianconeri are looking to sign a top-class centre-back and they have been linked with a host of players including Lokomotic Moscow’s Branislav Ivanovic and Fenerbahce’s Diego Lugano.
However a new name has entered the mix in the form of ex-Chievo stopper Andrea Barzagli.
The 26-year-old was set to sign for Juventus for the start of the 2006/07 season, however the transfer was then scrapped following the Calciopoli crisis that summer.
New Bianconeri boss Claudio Ranieri was said to be not one of Barzagli’s greatest fans, however after string of superb performances for the Italian national team over the last few months, the Tinkerman seems to have changed his mind.
Barzagli filled in for the injured Marco Materazzi and put in some rock-solid displays in the Euro 2008 qualifiers against France, Ukraine, Georgia and Scotland.
He was particularly impressive in the victory against the Scots at Hampden Park, a game which Italy could not afford to lose.
The new Juventus are priding themselves on signing young Italian players and could offer 20-year-old Domenico Criscito on loan as part of the deal to sign Barzagli.
Criscito is highly rated in Italy, however he is still lacking in experience, thus a short-term move to the Stadio Barbera could prove beneficial.

Ranieri didn't want him. He was a Juve player and Claudio rejected him so we won't see him in a Juve jersey soon. He didn't play like that vs Juve because he signed a pre-contract with us. He just plained sucked. With Italy he plays real good. Maybe it's because he has a leader next to him and doesn't have to do everything in defense for Palermo. I'll pass.
