I agree that the priority has shifted to left backs from centrebacks in the last couple months.

When this thread started, the situation looked like this:

Chiellini - Legrottaglie - GAP -Grygera/Zebina (and the verdict was still out on how Legro would reply to this)

to:

GAP - Chiellini - Legrottaglie -Grygera/Zebina

With that, the priority (assuming Chiellini is happy at CB) is to find a class replacement for him at LB. (Ideally, someone who could play either wingback position)

That way, when Andrade returns, the situation could be this:

Chiellini-Andrade-Legrottaglie-New Guy
or
New Guy-Chiellini-Andrade- Grygera/Zebina
or
New Guy-Chiellini-Legrottaglie-Grygera/Zebina

Options! And none of them look bad.

Who fits that mold?

Zaccardo, Zambrotta, Pasqual, Grosso, possibly Ivanovic and Bonera, amongst others.

Would I mind if they stick with CB and grab Barzagli or Zapata? Not at all.

screw him man.....i dont thiink the fans wants him back either

That is just because Zapata is more physically developed.

Criscito will get there.
Yep, Criscito has the brains, but none of the brawn. He'll be good in 2-3 years minimum... he'll definitely be class.

Though, I do find it laughable that Criscito expected to stroll in and be the #1 defender and make demands of field time, yet failed to bulk up any muscle. He's lucky to have been given as many chances as he was, and belongs back on loan to a low Serie A, high Serie B squad for now and like I said, another couple of years.

I guess it goes to show how good Andrade really was... insofar as we didn't really notice how unready Criscito was until after Jorge was injured.

so far everything i have seen about zapata is great, not only he is he better(for now) than cris in terms, of strength, but he is very intelligent and can read the plays well, but i still have high hopes for cris.
